I use the default UI too. I'm a DPS warrior (my only toon) so everything I need is only a couple action bars away. However, I can't live without the following:

1. OmniCC (cooldown timers on action bars)

2. MiksScrollingBattleText (more organized and cleaner than the default)

3. Badboy (to squelch gold spammers and stupid **** from /trade)

4. Deadly Boss Mods (essential, needs no introduction)

My GF is an add-on freak so our Curse Client is loaded with a ton of junk she uses. She plays a Protection paladin and a Disc. priest, so I assume they need a ton

of mods to function.

I changed my UI around a bit, is there anything else I should change. You can see the changes by comparing it to an older screenshot i posted earlier.

Looks good mate, I'm personally OCD about my interface. I think I spend more time customizing it than playing the actual game. :p

4.0.1 is up on the backround downloader apparently. :|

yup all 1.74gb of the first bit is up for download (rather large patch for just being Minor UI fixes and a few other things) the big patch is going to be the 4.0.3 patch (the actual Cataclysm/Sundering)

In case anyone else is curious, here's a list of the add-ons I currently use:

Auctionator

Bagnon

BankStack

ButtonFacade

Chatter

Deadly Boss Mods

Dominos

Enhanced Colour Picker

ErrorFilter

GearScore

HealBot

LootFilter

Minimalist

OPie

Overachiever

Postal

Quartz

Recount

SexyMap

ShadowedUnitFrames

Skinner

SpeedyActions

tekticles

TipTac

XLoot

And here's some screenshots of my favorite add-ons. (Left out ShadowedUnitFrames, that's gotta be #1 in my book)

My apologies for the pictures, had to show off my handy work. ;)

Actually really like it! is your version of Skinner the basic one or have you customised it?

He uploaded his skinner profile when I asked him for it on the previous page, he uses the default graphics and it's hella sexy.

Also: Dingd 74 on my Orc Blood/Unholy DK just now : D!

Neudera, what gives your frames the nice black outlines and such?

I'm redoing my UI similar to yours right now (actually playing Vindictus and while TreeClimber grabs his 3,486th smoke (I'm not kidding you!)) I'm pulling down add ons and fixing things up.

FRESH install of dominos.

Won't it also contain all the item stat changes and talent changes and spell changes/additions or will that be introduced in 4.0.3? If so, it's not really surprising that it's that large.

The Skinner add-on, I have more instructions and an uploaded lua config file on this page.

I extracted the patch with MPQ Explorer. It seems to contain delta patches for the new UI elements for 4.0 in addition to the new backstory for the main races as mp3s. It does not contain the binaries (launcher.exe and wow.exe)

I figure we'll get another patch with the rest later this week. I'm not sure if it'll drop next week or not but it looks possible.

My new UI, inspired by neudera..

Cooldown bar is up so that I can align it when I get into combat, then it'll be faded out, TinyDPS is always on display because well, I like the ability to configure it while fighting... and since it doesn't stick with 'ALWAYS SHOW OVER ALL' for some reason :(

Quite liking the new look.

this be my ui.. 3rd alt of 4, they all have the same basic layout

favourite addons being... chocolate bar broker + the broker addons, button facade, tip tac, sexycooldown, elikanos buff bars, icehud

    • I missed this when you first posted it, but those are awesome icons! I would normally prefer things to be uniform, but each of those icons seems to fit perfectly for the game! If I may ask though, what was your thought process on which icons are circular - MK makes sense - and which ones should be rectangular or square?
    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....
