Gambling in game can get your account banned.. just fyi EVN.. It's because Gambling can take the game to a Mature rating and Blizzard doesn't want to deal with it.

Be warned they log chats.

I also, came here bringing good tidings:

Go into your wtf folder and edit config.wtf and launcher.wtf:

Change the account from LK to CT in both files then launch wow.. on LIVE, and you can pull in the remaining files for cataclysm, and all you have to do is put in your key when you get your final copy.

It works beautifully!

Or upgrade now via battle.net and let it do it anyway. This way I don't have to even put in the key.

The rules changed 3 or 4 years ago, here are the current rules on gambling. and some blue poster advice on gambling.

Don't spam, don't scam, beware of people you can't trust. Advice that applies to everything in the game also applies to gambling. Who knew?

Well with the last few months of WoW being pretty boring, I'm really looking forward too Cataclysm coming out. Glad I managed to get the ICC25 meta achievement done last week, a little sad that I can't be bothered to go for the Insane title.

Also a little sad what they did to my Paladin with the latest patch, not sure if it will still be my main in the new expansion, but at least I have another 8 level 80's too choose from.

Yep for me anyway it was only 700Mb more of data.

Actually, you get a ton of stuff..

I have every single Collectors except the original games.. which I want. :(

  • Buy cheap crap on the AH and sell it high. Right now glyphs are still pretty viable: buy up anything with <5 on the market selling for less than 30g and repost it. "good" glyphs (read every classes 'how to play in 4.0 guide') can be resold for 100g+. Don't waste your time farming for herbs or making glyphs unless it is substantially cheaper than just buying finished glyphs and reposting.
  • Selling mounts and titles. An ICC achievements drake will net me around 10k for about 5 hours of work. An Ulduar drake brings down half as much gold but takes about half as long too. Titles (kingslayer typically) will turn up 2k for about 10 minutes of work so I sell those when I can.
  • If I'm just chatting in town I might make up some of the old enchants: mongoose, 30 spellpower, crusader, etc. using materials from the AH. If the difference in mats vs average sell price is > 100g then it's worth the effort.
  • Gem buying/cutting/relisting worked but the profits are way down from where they used to be. I rely on friends to do the cutting for me now so I almost never bother with it these days. It's probably the easiest market to get into because you can farm justice points for your first 10 gems and after that it's entirely self sustaining
  • Selling rare items at a markup. 8 months ago I'd hop in trade chat and try to buy things like Battered hilts or primordial saronite for 6k or 1k respectively from anybody offering, then I'd just take them to the AH and list them for 8k or 1.5k respectively (about 5% under AH price). Profit rolled in pretty fast. Some BOE items (necks, wand, chest from ICC) sold very well but I try to avoid dealing in items I can't use myself.

When I'm actively trying to make gold I'll spend around 30 minutes a day with the auction house and then my normal activities (basically I just raiding) was bringing down about 2k per week from boss drops and stuff I could shard or sell.

Once you've got dual spec, all the heirlooms, and your tier sets for all of your specs there's no cost in the game. I make it a rule to stay above 50k at all times and average around 75-90k on a typical day. Sometimes I'm way up or down from gambling, but over time you'll break even on that. Past 20k there's really no change in 'quality of life' so it's hard to be motivated to earn gold past that point.

I'm not a mount or achievement ###### and the best gear is from raiding so I don't buy anything other than flasks/food/potions (and even those I buy in lots of 100+ so the price is very cheap, ie 10 stacks of fish-feasts for 1k instead of buying them individually for 180g per stack)

Thanks for this post evn. I now have just over 3000 gold so still a long way to go, i've spent some time getting my herbalism and mining professions up to where they should be but it's a long task. I need 6100g for artisan flying and then cold weather flying.. Whats the deal with the Glyphs? apart from buying a coupe of using them i dont know much about them. And also where would be a good guide you mentioned? i'm a human warrior.

definitely a bit meh, there should be more in-game stuff with the collectors edition. I'd take the mousepad but the rest wouldnt get taken out of their packet. I'm just going to buy the standard box on release day. Thought about digital pre sale but i have the other 3 boxes.

What more do you want?!

OMFG.

If you want to know what happens when Deathwing torches a zone..

.

I am laughing my *** off, and I am so happy to know that the Worgen are going to be able get the feat of strength.

Contains A LOT of swearing though.. so be warned.

some exclusive in game gear maybe? - instead of a pet i'll have running about with me for 10 mins before i get bored of it being in the way.

Just a thought...

The Spectral Horse mount would be a no no :p I'm thinking along the same lines though

Special edition should come with a Horse Mount (Similar to The Spectral Steed, Invincible in the sense its it a land/flying mount) but the skin is the same skin as Deathwing and it breathes fire (not like the Warlock Mounts!)

Some sort of in game robe/clothing item that does not affect combat or stats?

Many collectors editions on consoles tend to have "extra" in game content or they are bundled with themes etc. Bit of extra Exclusive in game stuff would not hurt at all. The pet and the feat of strength is a gimmick.

Those guys need to go out a little bit more... it's just fire in a game, it's not that amazing. lol

British broadcaster and producer. I make videos and podcasts about videogames because it's hip to do so. I am not funny in any way.

I believe he gets paid to do so.

On a side note, do you think Blizz can or will ever do anyhting about the random ques? I have 5 lvl 80;s, this rogue will make 6, but the wait times for the randoms is stupid long:

All the information you need is 'right there' in the screen shot: there are no problems with queue times if you're a tank or healer.

If you insist on playing as a DPS you're going to wait for your chance to play with people doing the more difficult to fill rolls or

you're going to have to make some friends.

    • The proportion (or number of iterations) has nothing to with this aspect of Copyright I am describing. In short, it doesn't matter how many times the manager tells you to change something or how. Your work product is always YOURS until and unless you then assign that to the person representing the client/company, usually for financial compensation -- either in salary or as a subcontract work for hire payment. if iterations determined copyright, then businesses would have learned to just keep making changes until they could claim they owned the copyright, without having to compensate the artist for their work. And that would be BAD. The only place where the amount of changes does have a role is in how much does a human modify a previous public domain work (from any source) before it is considered fair use or their own work, etc. For example, if a human makes substantial changes to a public domain (re: AI, by definition) work, then they can then claim that derivative work as their own...but NEVER the original version, of course. That's why anyone can make a movie about Dracula, for example, as long as it is based on the public domain novel, but not if they take new ideas from copyrighted movies made afterwards. As one of the people who personally advised the US Copyright Office on their recent ruling on these very issues, be assured that I specifically used the terminology precisely -- though I made it simple enough for laymen to understand it. If I made this confusing by doing so, I apologize. But, to be clear regarding your assumption that I would agree to your second statement that I quoted above -- the answer is NO. If AI does the work, no matter how much "direction" you give it, it cannot be copyrighted. All AI generated content is in the Public Domain and therefore the copyright cannot be assigned to ANYONE, even you -- until and unless substantial modifications are made to it BY A HUMAN BEING (yourself or a contracted artist/writer/etc.) and then that copyright on the derivative work is legally (in writing) transferred to you. This is a critical distinction. And it is important that people, especially AI sloppers, understand this. For example, YouTube is not paying AI slop generators for the copyright, etc. of their AI slop. What YouTube is doing is sharing AD REVENUE for permission to publish your AI slop. Copyright/ownership/rights never come into it. Importantly, that means that anyone can copy any AI slopware on YouTube, etc. and rehost it anywhere they want, even back on YouTube, and there is nothing legal that YouTube can do about it with regards to copyright protections, ownership, DMCA, etc. Anyone is legally free to use any AI slopware in any way they want. When this ruling was pending, I warned Disney legal of all of this before they did their OpenAI deal -- that it would literally dilute their entire IP portfolio forever. They ignored that warning for the PR and stock bump. But that is why, when the ruling came down last year, Disney quickly extricated themselves from that OpenAI deal, even eating the initial upfront fees -- followed closely by OpenAI ending their entire AI video generating business model. They adjusted their PR release dates to make this less obvious to shareholders, of course. Phew. I hope that this clears up the key distinctions for you and anyone reading. If you have any additional questions or even hypotheticals about AI and Copyright, please feel free to ask.

    • Owing to the nature of Windows feature enablement updates, it was distributed over Windows Update services as a complete system upgrade rather than as an ordinary cumulative update
    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2, urges IT admins to prepare for release by Usama Jawad Windows 11 typically follows an annual update cycle, but Microsoft recently broke that tradition a bit by releasing a "26H1" version in the first half of this year as a "scoped" build for select new silicon PCs only. This version was not available for customers using 24H2 and 25H2 builds, as Microsoft is busy preparing version 26H2 for them, confirmed officially for the first time. In a Windows IT Pro blog, Microsoft has urged IT admins to prepare for the upcoming release of Windows 11 version 26H2. The company has confirmed that this will be a small enablement package (eKB) that will simply light up certain disabled features that are already present in the operating system's code base. This means that the "refined" Windows update and deployment experience will be simpler and quicker, with minimal disruptions, as the feature update will simply toggle a few flags rather than performing a complete replacement. Microsoft has explained that this is all possible because the standard Windows 11 releases share the same servicing branch and hence, the same source code. However, this also means that Windows 11 26H1 users won't be able to upgrade to 26H2 as that is a different branch, but this is something we have known for a while now. Similar to previous annual feature updates, Windows 11 26H2 will offer the following support cycles: 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro EDU, and Pro for Workstations editions 36 months of support for Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-session editions Microsoft has not confirmed a concrete release date for Windows 11 26H2, but noted that it is "coming soon". If we go by the ongoing release cadence, we can expect it to begin rolling out in early October 2026. As such, IT admins have been encouraged to begin validating Windows Insider releases in the Experimental Channel, plan rollout rings, and strategize the utilization of their existing deployment tools.
