Healing is not an easy job anymore (which is a good thing). Just do what you're comfortable with. If you think you can handle a dungeon, but you'll need to drink often, go for it. If you're not confident yet, just build the set. But don't be worried about having to drink; that's quite normal again. I'm actually having to do Ritual of Refreshment again for my runs.

Well, I am comfortable with healing, I just wasn't sure if it would be smarter for me to go and gear out as dps, then build heals, or just go for it, but if I am drinking and such regardless.. that pretty much answers it. I can re-forge most of my stuff into haste and crit, and ench it for those stats to give me SOME Boost.

i'll keep that mind, but keep in mind in pvp you don't really want to be standing still long enough to spam any cast time nukes.

while i'm spamming instanst like icelance i'm circle strafing and kiting.

this is in world pvp and BGs, not as effective in arenas due to space iirc. but you still want to be mobile in those as well. there's only a couple classes that can afford to stand in one spot depending on how well they're played, and mage isn't one of them.

Which is why you should have also grabbed Early Frost. It's not much, but it makes a difference. You may not be able to stand around like you do in PvE, and I know this, but you're a mage... You cast stuff. So what you want to do is spam Frostbolt and hopefully either freeze the person or proc Fingers of Frost, then get some crazy crits going. If you really need to freeze them, run up and do Cone of Cold (I only use Frost Nova in emergencies). That's how you're going to down enemies in PvP. Running around doing Ice Lance won't kill anybody unless they're already almost dead from other people attacking them.

like i said i'll re-evaluate it but so far since 4.03a i've been able to get away with mostly icelance spam, even before i was doing any crazy crits with it.

and i've been killing tonnes of people with mainly icelance. hell i tag teamed an 85 pali with it even after his bubble wore off as he was running away. and he was camping our base with 2 other 83 players including a frost mage.

if i stand there and spam cast time spells like frost bolt though i'm just goign to pull aggro from players and be an easy click target locked down and focus fired and dead befor ei've done enough damage to out dps ice lance spam.

there are situations where casting cast time nukes a few times is the thing to do, and like i said i'll be reevaluating frostfire vs frostbolt and my spec for procs and such for both. but in the pvp i've done when people are fighting back at all if i stand there and cast my main nukes i am dead before the second frostbolt is done casting.

both in BGs and in world pvp where it's 2v15.

procs are great for dps but useless when i'm dead before my targets are.

never really been a fan of PVP did just enough to get the Black War raptor and Black war chicken(blood elf mount)

they really increased the cost of pvp mounts unfortunately. luckily i have most of the ones i at all want. used to farm the badges needed for 1-3 mounts in a week or so. now they cost 2k honour.

well i took your advice giga and added a point to brainfreeze and am trying out frostbolt. seems to do more damage compared to frostfire at this level. will keep with the playing around. no pvp tonight though. will have to get used when brain freeze procs.

EDIT: it's brainfreeze i added the point to. deepfreeze being the 3s stun on frozen targets right? not a big fan of that spell as it's the choice between a 3s cc that's good as a conditional interupt when i have arcane torrent for quick interupts between CS CDs, and icelance for 12k+ crits on frozen targets.

Tanked normal Grim Batol on my DK. So not worth the run, by the time i was finished all by gears durabilitynwas almost 0% and had a 50g repair bill.

And it wasnt even the first run where i got JP, just 13g. :(

I Bolded the part you should really be paying attention to.

  • Deep Freeze (Magic)
    Stunned and Frozen.
    5 seconds remaining

Can you see what is awesome about that and why you should be using that damn near on cool down unless you have a good reason not to?

Have you ever considered making a video? You're claiming to dominate world+dog and you barely understand how the class plays. I'm not saying such a thing is impossible, but what you're saying could make for a good sequel to world of roguecraft.

Raiding is costing me about 1,000g per hour. Capping my professions cost me almost 70,000 gold.

so what you;'re saying is deepfreeze adds 5 more seconds to frozen timer? tbh in a duo in pvp i'm lucky to get an icelance on frozen targets due to dps from my bro's shadow preist breaking frozen almost instantly, even witht eh glyphs that increases amount of damage a target can take before the frozen effect breaks.

i used to make videos all the time, and need to get back in the habit of starting fraps before wow, and used to hitting record before pvp takes place and all that stuff again...

umm let me embed one or two of my old videos:

one of my old pvp guild's best showings, in that they actually showed up. tehre's a part where i mess up with transitioning from the flight bit of halaa to the ground pvp bit as i was swapping out ice lance for the bombs on my hot bar on the fly.

this one is kinda silly and RPish, but there is some fighting of level 70s(during tbc) here. have to note the guy i'm duoing with is the right level for tanaris where the pvp takes place, often the lowbies killed were being escorted by level 70s, so in teh fights where it's like 2v2 or seemingly 1v2 there's at least 1 70 i'm fighting. some of it was without ui, some with. and yeah i really did used to do silly things like finish people off with melee fairly often even in level 70 pvp in outlands.

anyways, hoepfully i'll get another decent world pvp session before i hit 85 that i have recorded and edit together a video. tehre are a few more oww pvp videos on that channel(mine) but they're either more zergy or just lolzy in some way. i chose these two because they at least had similar levels and numbers for the most part. oh i think there's a eots video in there too but i hate how i over edited it and the song so yeah, lolzy.

EDIT: ph i ahve to stress, i don't really make "skill" videos. alot of the silly stuff you see in teh second video in particular is intentionally silly. i used to get a lot of criticsm on my old server that i wasn't giving people a chance to fight back. so i'd do things like record me standing front of them for 10 seconds or w/e. there's also an AQ unlocking rp event i crashed where i use a lot of aoes, but that was just to mess with people and not really try and kill them. when i still had aoes on my frost bar aside from AE.

Unless you farm your own mats, thats expected

Before Cata i switched to dual gathering professions, since releace i have made over 10k just from minimal AH mat sales, literally 1 of my ore ( not a stack ) goes for 500g, butwith so may people around at same time, gathering said mats is a pain, and there is alot of fighting over them

Within maby the first month, i dont buy anything AH unless i have to

Raiding is costing me about 1,000g per hour. Capping my professions cost me almost 70,000 gold.

yeah drop rate of mats seems low, at least drop from mob mats.

i checked out the mage set on my server, head piece was going for 1200g. :o no other pieces on the AH. priest set was going for decent prices though. i don't have that kind of cash and chances are i will farm enough honour and CP before they come down.

The nice thing about being rich is notbeing required to farm or do daily quests. I'll probably continue to just buy the stuff I want now because I'm on the gravy train of having rare enchants and patterns. Tailors will give me their 1 week cool downs for dreamcloth if I provide the materials because they get a skill up. I can buy those materials for around 750g on the ah at any time. I can take 4 cloths (about 3000g) and make a belt that will sell in minutes for 10,000g or 6-cloths to make pants that sell for double that. I'm pulling down a 300% mark up on materials for basically 10 minutes of effort. You cab probably exploit this for another month or so before it goes to hell, but 10,000 g per day isn't too crazy right now.

I suppose it all depends on how quickly the 'casuals' level up and realize that Tier 11 raiding isn't like Tier 7 and you actually have to try in order to kills stuff. It feels about as difficult as BWL after nerfs was (or the latter half of ICC at 0% buff) which is perfect (IMO) for a first tier of content. It's not rediculous, but it's not facerolling in the sort of gear we have access to right now.

I'm up to 35k again so I can easily afford to raid for a month (though I'll stop flasking for bwd in a couple weeks until we start on hard mode. And my costs will tank.)

I can't edit my last post:

Me and some friends kill Maloriak, the third boss in BWL 2.0. I accidentally sharded my shoulders and main-hand that afternoon

(I was thinking in WoTLK terms: What? It's blue? SHARD IT!") so I was wearing greens + a staff with a melee enchant I did while

leveling up. I couldn't queue for heroics at the time and it shows in my pretty pathetic damage numbers.

Still reasonably fun, looking forward to banging out Neferian this weekend unless we decide to sponge up the 'free loot' from the

first bosses in Bastion of Twilight and Throne of the Four Windws first.

Here's the much less interesting Magmaw kill (less interesting because everyone can try him now if they want to.

I healed our robo-council kill and forgot to make a video of that. I'll do that maybe next week just for completeness.

I have a Pally Healer and a Shaman Healer and so far (Pally is 83, Shaman is 81) Healing is not much of a problem for me. My gear when going into Cata though was 5900+ so I had pretty good gear but 'so far' the lower end dungeons have not been an issue for me. I came close though with my Pally with going OOM once, but that was because of going into Stone Core and I was not familiar with the instance but once I got into it more it is not an issue.

well we decided to call it quits on trying to make our guild work last night. we just weren't getting responses to our recruitment efforts. no one wanted to join a level 1 guild. a shame really.

i joined a zerg guild of some kinda that was level 4. they seemed to have some problem inviting my bro for some reason and he kept getting invited to a guild with 10 people, or something. maybe it was bugging out because the guild i joined showed up as my old guild name until i restarted wow, but his had a completely different name than the one i joined or our guild. so i dunno.

went into icc raid you fight the lk in. trash is pretty hardcore in there. we wiped on the first boss because it seemed everyone was standing in the bad stuff and hadn't done the fight before so we didn't know what to do. i was the last person standing it seemed.

So far we have downed Pit Lord Argaloth, Halfus Wyrmbreaker, and Omnitron Defense System. We were ridiculously close to downing Conclave of Wind, but due to an uber fail healer we were not able. He will be replaced and has been properly ridiculed. I am happy though, as I have 3 epics thus far :)

I'll post a video of Omnitron when it's done for anyone who may care.

:( the realm I play on is so dead, I have a 15 minute wait as a healer for dungeons.

:( the realm I play on is so dead, I have a 15 minute wait as a healer for dungeons.

you can always hang out with me in mumble if you are bored or w/e. we sometimes have people who don't even play wow come in and hang out.

speaking of voice has it become common for wow players not to hang out with their guild in voice chat(like vent) unless they're actually doing something these days or something? when i played in tbc it was with people i met in l2, but the people we recruited from wow often came in vent just to hang out. but there seems to be no one in this new guild's vent server except for events, and even then not every comes in for them.

i find it so much funner and easier to chat in voice than to type in guild chat when i'm out and actually doing stuff. but these guys seem to love doing it.

anyways, hit 83 and finished up in deepholme last night. went and did the intro quest to uldum which was pretty funny. i guess this is where wow's indiana jones character comes back? i vaguely remember some quests in what was it vanilla or wotlk or something with him? it was a pretty funny quest line back then.

i can't help but keep noticing how much better the new cata zones look compared to what i remember about the wotlk zones. especially that godawful troll ruins zone you spend like 3 levels in. i don't usually like dark themed zones but there were some really nice looking parts of deepholme and overall it didn't feel depressing or foreboding while i was there.

Our guild is in the recruiting stage atm, so I've had a lot of spare time to do archaeology and damn did that pay off:

[Tyrande's Favorite Doll]

[Ring of the Boy Emperor]

Really chuffed with those two, should really give me a boost walking into raids :D. It took bloody well ages to do though..

Last month, AMD announced it is answering community requests to bring FSR 4.1 to past generations of its Radeon graphics cards. This would be starting with RDNA 3 RX 7000 products. Right on schedule, this is what's rolling out now with the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver containing official support for over 300 games. Following this, AMD is planning to bring out RDNA 2 (RX 6000 series) support for FSR 4.1 sometime in early 2027. As for the games, this Adrenalin 26.6.2 driver is a recommended install for anyone jumping into Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced remake or id Software's DOOM: The Dark Ages' Revelations expansion. The two fixed issues in this release are these: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing RoadCraft on Radeon™ RX 7000 series products. Purple screen may be displayed when using an HP Reverb G2 headset with SteamVR on Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics products. The known issues AMD is still working on are the following: Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while playing Battlefield 6 on AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. AMD is actively working on a resolution with the developer to be released as soon as possible. Texture flickering or corruption may appear while playing Battlefield 6 with AMD Record and Stream on some AMD graphics products. AMD FSR Upscaling and AMD FSR Frame Generation may show as inactive in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition while playing Battlefield 6 when enabled on Radeon™ RX 9000 series graphics products. Failure to install may be observed while installing AI Bundle components in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub. Model flickering or rendering failure may be observed in Maxon Cinema 4D and Blender on Radeon RX 7000 series and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. Intermittent application crash may be observed on some models while running Blender on Radeon RX 7000 and above graphics products. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1. The newly released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 driver is now available for download from the AMD Software app. Find the official changelog here.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
