Hi, any suggestions for my Druid ? Here's my Armory. My guild won't be raiding until (at least) next week, and in the mean time I'm not sure how to make any progress. Any advice on my enchanting/gemming ? Some gear that I can get before starting raids ? (I'm working on the TB One-Hand right now) or any suggestion to make my DPS better ? (I'm standing at 14-15k on Bosses, 22k with Heroism and 18k burst on trash)

I'm either dumb or my very long break since last playing WoW is showing...

Just logged in as my mage, who is level 48, and I have no idea where frost armor/ice armor or any of my buffs are?

Not played WoW in about 7 months or something, so much has changed!

edit: Frost spec and my spells book looks like this

It's intended to be a PVP buff (use it to block a counterspell or kick)

Yea, I don't like PVP I did it for a bit, got bored of it, would rather strategize with 25 people about how to down a monster than how to kill a 13 y/o kid.

In PVE it's got some use as well. Holy priests have more potent instant cast abilities so they are less effected by the mechanic.

Yea, holy priests don't shield much from what I can tell, their heals are more than strong enough to cover that. It has it's uses yes, but it's in a limited kinda way. It's definitely a PVP Buff.

As for levitate, I guess I just haven't experience that, however yea I can see the use, but any damage is going to instantly remove it.

Yep, I misread the patch notes, my bad.

Well, as disc I see that whole use slower more mana efficient spells (ie: heal) I never used heal in WoTLK, was always FH, but now I never FH.

Lastnight I got kicked out of a group on the last boss in H SFK. The tank was a drood bear with 160k hp buffed. He would get mad when I couldn't heal him through the damage of 6 mobs at one time. I tried to explain the CC is needed, that when he gets hit for 10k per mob (so 40-50k damage every couple seconds) it is quite difficult. I also tried to explain that Leather armor != plate armor which made him mad.

He also had a tendency to run ahead and start pulling before I had mana or before I was with him to heal. So with that, I begin to wonder am I too weak to heal? Like should I be able to heal through that? Or am I okay and it's not my fault..

There are more details to be accounted for to come to an accurate conclusion. The bear seems to have enough health equivalent to our bears in raids (well maybe 20-30k less) but how is he accomplishing this? Stacking stamina? If so, he's a scrub. The real question though, is how does your gear stack up? It is quite easy to go oom on one pull like that without CC when you are not raid geared. If you are raid geared, then I would say you need to work on maintaining mana

Honestly, though, any good tank will look at his healer to see what to expect. If he's not open minded enough to look out for the best interest of the group, then he's just a jackass.

That should be survivable even in quest greens and blues.

It's not the same, but the damage reduction of a druid in bear form is pretty similar to that of the plate tanks. A mix of epics and heroic blues puts a shield tank at around 35k armor, a DK tank at around 25k. A feral druid sits in the middle. The mechanics are slightly different, our paladin tank never takes a full hit due to the amount of block/dodge/parry pushing hit off the table. A druid is going to be taking simliar amounts of damage due to savage defence + slightly higher avoidance. DKs take more damage than other tanks, but they also self heal for exceptional amounts so their less of a drain on healers than others. If you pull up world of logs and poke through 'tank and spank' encounters you'll see that holds up easily enough.

So with that, I begin to wonder am I too weak to heal? Like should I be able to heal through that? Or am I okay and it's not my fault..

If you've got round 2000 spirit, ?10% you should be able to go a few trash pulls without drinking but stopping every 3 or 4 is pretty normal and drinking before the boss is perfectly reasonable. The last guy in SFK should be trivial, you certainly don't need to CC the mobs for that encounter. Did you check his death log? If he was getting blown up it's probably because he was standing in bullet barrage.

He may have had a point or two but it also sounds like the guy was a jerk. Just vote kick him, it's easy enough to get a replacement tank once you've made it through the queue.

i have a DK tank (lvl70) and a drood tank (lvl54)

what i want to know is as DK tank what rotations should i use? atm i just randomly use spells and bloodboil when its cd done, if others have aggro i just use command/taunt. (for future ref ;) )

Yea, except that my heals are for 9-10k I'm 10% haste un buffed so if he gets hit for even 40k in the time I heal 10k... It's kinda hard to keep up.

I dunno I just found the warrior tank I had been with the night before was far easier for me to heal than the druid.

I don't drink much, on a nice CC Pull I use 15% mana (maybe) on a big pull no CC 40-60% mana because I pop things such as barrier and have to do my AOE Heal. I have a 90k mana pool buffed.

They kicked me in the room before that boss. Keeping in mind we had only wiped on one of the bosses once. We didn't have many wipes but there was quite a few times where the tank would die [because my heals weren't strong enough] and I'd rez him after.

Ahwell, it's no biggie, I don't care, I've never like drood tanks though.

I don't have any castable buffs under arcane either, just mage ward/mana shield.

Says I should have it at level 1, and a year back when I last played my mage I'm sure I did have it!

Druid shapeshifting not breaking roots anymore makes me a sad panda :( That was like a highlight of being a druid. I get it, a blow to Ferals being imba but wtf Mages can blink out of the ****. I get that i can dispell it as Resto but WTF chuck about Boomkins? Trinket when all other classes get two ways of getting out of that ****. pfffft.

Yeah they completely changed all the buffs you get as a mage. I mean you don't even get Arcane Intellect/Brilliance until really late in the game, and its the same spell now and uses no reagents :)

Just wondering how many people play World of Warcraft with Ubuntu? I'm thinking about coming back to the game, but don't own a 64-bit version of Windows and would prefer to keep it off my mac :)

I used to run WoW under Wine and it worked for the most part without issue. It was VERY playable just make sure you enable OpenGL

I play WoW using PCLinuxOS 2010 using wine....and the opengl flag. It runs well but since patch 4.0 you are limited in how much you can turn the settings up. This is because the opengl used in the game for Windows is an older version and has not been updated. When the game detects the opengl flag being used it hard sets your graphic settings to lower end. I am able to still customize many of the settings and the game still looks very good so it really is no big deal to me anyways.

I get very good frame rates...usually between 50 and 60. Busy areas will dip down but that really is the case for everyone.

Just make sure that you are using the latest graphic driver as this made a big difference to my setup.

Yeah I've come to understand that now, I just panicked yesterday as I haven't played my mage in about a year, so much has changed laugh.gif

Thinking of rolling horde for a proper go, I've never had a horde character above about level 12. Decided I want to stay as a caster, and the only two caster classes I haven't seriously played are Priest/Warlock.

Now to choose!

Here, I'll link to the thread.

imo, waste of time.

I have 109 days /played on my hunter.. there has always been some variation of your "bug". It's not a bug... it's how the game works. Having pets trail or what have you is not going to happen.

What in your guys opinion is the best EU Realm, for Alliance PvE/PvP?

It's hard to beat auchindoun for number 12/12 or better guilds in PVE. With raiding only requiring 10 players it doesn't matter where you play, it's who you play with. Find something in a time zone that matches when you play (prime-time is about 7:00, so pick a server where 7:00 server time happens when you play most often).

If you're looking to be 'the best' then you'll be going wherever you can find 9/14/24 other people to play with at the vey high end. The top guilds in the world are

scattered around on different servers. The server you transfer to will be the one with the people you're going to play with.

Finally reached Outland for the first time ever. Looks quite cool, lookingforward to my flying mount more though. Whats the best way to find guilds that are recruiting? I'd like to get into some end game content at some point and pugs can be quite frustrating. I play on EU Magtheridon, I would class myself as a casual player, I usually play about 4-8 hours a week.

    • The proportion (or number of iterations) has nothing to with this aspect of Copyright I am describing. In short, it doesn't matter how many times the manager tells you to change something or how. Your work product is always YOURS until and unless you then assign that to the person representing the client/company, usually for financial compensation -- either in salary or as a subcontract work for hire payment. if iterations determined copyright, then businesses would have learned to just keep making changes until they could claim they owned the copyright, without having to compensate the artist for their work. And that would be BAD. The only place where the amount of changes does have a role is in how much does a human modify a previous public domain work (from any source) before it is considered fair use or their own work, etc. For example, if a human makes substantial changes to a public domain (re: AI, by definition) work, then they can then claim that derivative work as their own...but NEVER the original version, of course. That's why anyone can make a movie about Dracula, for example, as long as it is based on the public domain novel, but not if they take new ideas from copyrighted movies made afterwards. As one of the people who personally advised the US Copyright Office on their recent ruling on these very issues, be assured that I specifically used the terminology precisely -- though I made it simple enough for laymen to understand it. If I made this confusing by doing so, I apologize. But, to be clear regarding your assumption that I would agree to your second statement that I quoted above -- the answer is NO. If AI does the work, no matter how much "direction" you give it, it cannot be copyrighted. All AI generated content is in the Public Domain and therefore the copyright cannot be assigned to ANYONE, even you -- until and unless substantial modifications are made to it BY A HUMAN BEING (yourself or a contracted artist/writer/etc.) and then that copyright on the derivative work is legally (in writing) transferred to you. This is a critical distinction. And it is important that people, especially AI sloppers, understand this. For example, YouTube is not paying AI slop generators for the copyright, etc. of their AI slop. What YouTube is doing is sharing AD REVENUE for permission to publish your AI slop. Copyright/ownership/rights never come into it. Importantly, that means that anyone can copy any AI slopware on YouTube, etc. and rehost it anywhere they want, even back on YouTube, and there is nothing legal that YouTube can do about it with regards to copyright protections, ownership, DMCA, etc. Anyone is legally free to use any AI slopware in any way they want. When this ruling was pending, I warned Disney legal of all of this before they did their OpenAI deal -- that it would literally dilute their entire IP portfolio forever. They ignored that warning for the PR and stock bump. But that is why, when the ruling came down last year, Disney quickly extricated themselves from that OpenAI deal, even eating the initial upfront fees -- followed closely by OpenAI ending their entire AI video generating business model. They adjusted their PR release dates to make this less obvious to shareholders, of course. Phew. I hope that this clears up the key distinctions for you and anyone reading. If you have any additional questions or even hypotheticals about AI and Copyright, please feel free to ask.

    • Owing to the nature of Windows feature enablement updates, it was distributed over Windows Update services as a complete system upgrade rather than as an ordinary cumulative update
    • Microsoft confirms Windows 11 26H2, urges IT admins to prepare for release by Usama Jawad Windows 11 typically follows an annual update cycle, but Microsoft recently broke that tradition a bit by releasing a "26H1" version in the first half of this year as a "scoped" build for select new silicon PCs only. This version was not available for customers using 24H2 and 25H2 builds, as Microsoft is busy preparing version 26H2 for them, confirmed officially for the first time. In a Windows IT Pro blog, Microsoft has urged IT admins to prepare for the upcoming release of Windows 11 version 26H2. The company has confirmed that this will be a small enablement package (eKB) that will simply light up certain disabled features that are already present in the operating system's code base. This means that the "refined" Windows update and deployment experience will be simpler and quicker, with minimal disruptions, as the feature update will simply toggle a few flags rather than performing a complete replacement. Microsoft has explained that this is all possible because the standard Windows 11 releases share the same servicing branch and hence, the same source code. However, this also means that Windows 11 26H1 users won't be able to upgrade to 26H2 as that is a different branch, but this is something we have known for a while now. Similar to previous annual feature updates, Windows 11 26H2 will offer the following support cycles: 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro EDU, and Pro for Workstations editions 36 months of support for Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-session editions Microsoft has not confirmed a concrete release date for Windows 11 26H2, but noted that it is "coming soon". If we go by the ongoing release cadence, we can expect it to begin rolling out in early October 2026. As such, IT admins have been encouraged to begin validating Windows Insider releases in the Experimental Channel, plan rollout rings, and strategize the utilization of their existing deployment tools.
