So now that the whole "group with people on real ID" thing is working, we could all group up for random 5-man content.

Anybody interested?

Kinda makes me want to resub, just to group with my friends cross server ._. then I remember all the reasons why I didn't do it months ago, it is still the same empty game world... When will they ever address the fact no one ever leaves cities anymore outside of doing professions?

It's like they spent so long in Cataclysm working on changing Azeroth and making the old world different, and no one even quests beyond level 10-15... Because that is the level they can just sit in a que and obtain more exp through the dungeon / bg system.

They didn't even intend for this to happen, they just wanted to give more options for people on how to level, and sadly most people pick the easiest route of standing in the safety of a main city.

People standing in Org/SW waiting for ques and raids has completely killed the immersion for me, and I am sure I am not the only one.

I would be.

Work is hectic atm so not playing so much, but when I'm on it would be fun to play with some fellow Neowin's. A spiritual successor to the Neowin guild perhaps?

  • 2 weeks later...

Had a horrible run at Nefarion last night. My internet kept crapping out on me causing tons of disconnects/lag, and I was supposed to be kiting the adds in Phase 1. :pinch:

Heroic Baleroc is probably one of the most boring encounters to watch. It's mostly about paying attention to debuff status, making sure you don't spread tormented around any more than necessary, and communicating when something is "screwed up" and you need to make changes.

Still trying to decide whether we'll start work on heroic Ragnaros after Domo or just get the glory drakes done.

Anyone have any input on a decent realm to transfer to? I'm on Khaz Modan at the moment, and the realm is just so lame. I want to have a change of scenery so bad.

Every realm looks the same. What you probably want is a different community. Maybe something with more RP, maybe something with better options for PVP advancement or maybe a place where pugs clear Firelands.

Without being more specific, it's hard to suggest anything.

Actually, I'm looking for somewhere where pugs don't fall apart after one wipe. I would enjoy clearing a raid with a pug because that is where I meet most new people and develop long term friendships.

I fell out of the PvP scene once they made the initial changes to it back in TBC days. I would tear it up on my enhancement shaman, but now he sits there and does nothing.

RP realms have intrigued me in the past, but I'm not really that much into heavy RP. I may do it occasionally, if the mood hits me, but I tend to stay away from it.

You're probably going to be happiest with a high-population realm with solid 10 and 25m progression. That's easy enough to find.

head to wow progres and pick any of the top-10 realms. Those typically have one or two "really good" guilds (people 6/7 heroic right now, that were 13/13 last tier). Several 'midling guilds (a handful of hardmodes down) and a truckload people just clearing out easy content every week (normal modes).

A setup like that tends to mean competent raiders looking to run easier but current content to gear their alts. mid-level guilds that need to fill holes in their raid roster, and lots of bored people who still think gear is important (which means lots of pugs for RBG/Arena/T11).

wow census to get an idea what the population is like (both overall and per faction). High population for the faction of your choice + solid wowprogress rating = a healthy pug community.

You lose some things for that trade off. High pop servers tend to have higher prices on the auction house yet it's more difficult to sell items because of all the competition from farmers. For your needs the gain will probably outstrip the loss.

EDIT: I don't suppose anybody else here is playing with heroic rag and has some advice other than "stack the hell out of your raid and keep trying until you don't suck any more"?

I loved this game for years, however after Cataclysm came out and my guild completed the content (new content that is) over the next few months our entire guild stopped playing the game. Most of us play Minecraft now or just other games.

i really hope the game becomes more epic again however, they are catering to folks that have never played rather than the folks that have been playing forever. still fun just feels like it has lost its way.

I'm a bit behind on videos but here's heroic Alysrazor which is still one of the most fun encounters since the game came out.

Heroic Rag progression this week and still no stupid blue trinket. After I get caught up with heroic bosses I might make a short guide

to doing the legendary staff infusions / minibosses. They're not exactly "new content" but I think it'll be a while before I get to upload a

Rag kill. There's still only four ten-man heroic Ragnaros kills that we know of: 3 Asian guilds + Paragon.

evn. if I transfer my (sort of) geard rogue to your server, can you carry me through all of the t11 content? :p

I could, but you'd probably just pug it -- tier 11 is pretty much a joke now and there are pugs through bwl/bot/tofw on normal mode several times a day on my server (and I expect any server with multiple heroic-clearing guilds). If you're asking about T11 heroics + achievements (so you can get the glory drake), I could probably arrange that but it wouldn't be cheap -- I'd ball park it around half a million gold.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
