If you have the motorola surfboard 4100, like me, you can view the logs and look for the configuration file*. I think by are trying ot update the modem but are sending the wrong config type for the modem. Im sure they will get round to sending the right one though.

edit: look down the information cell on the logs tab. it will be in there somewhere if it recently been updated. Also you can try powerign down your modem for 30 seconds then pluging the power back in.

Same as mine. The unit can be upgraded by B.Y. Their not always on the ball and the MSB 4100 is old so they will prob get round to sending us the right firmware upgrade.

Looks like Doncaster/Sheffield is coming tomorrow. Check the status page and look in the maintenance section to find out when your area is being done.

According to adslguide.org.uk, this is mine  right now:

Downstream 940 Kbps (117.5 KB/sec)

Upstream 116 Kbps (14.5 KB/sec)

I'm in the North West and that looks suspiciously like I've been upgraded from my 768 to 1024 :D

Anybody else been fully/partiatially upgraded?

I wasn't aware there was a point of partial upgrade; I thought it was either done, or not done. I used to get about 100kB/s on 768kb Blueyonder.

So I don't tihnk you've been upgraded.

They just send a command to the cable modem. They change the downstream to 1024kbps (or other speed depending on your package). They only send it once to tell it to just go to 1mbps, they dont mess around with half-upgrades etc...

Some cable modems allow you to see a log and it should have an entry for the speed increase:

http://192.168.100.1/signal.htm

That link is for webstar cable modems btw.

For Motorola Surfboards:
