Neowin's Official NASCAR Pick 'Em

Recommended Posts

Tony Stewart had the dominant car for most of Sunday, but it was Jeff Gordon who held off furious charges from Kurt Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. on a green-white-checkered restart to win his third Daytona 500.

:D

Wow, that was a great race. One of the best 500's in the past few years.

Yea that was really a great race...I was hoping Tony Stewart would win, but it was great anyways. I just wish he would have spun out Jimmy Johnson for blocking him all the way up the track like that during the last 3 laps  .

And none of my fantasy drives did any good except for Little E :argh:

Well Since I'm in a Nascar mood...I figured I'd post a few pics some of you might like.

I went to "The Richard Petty Driving Experience" last year in Charlotte, NC so here are a few pics that my girlfriend took:

This one is me getting into the car and getting ready to drive my "hot laps"....

it a good race.  I like the new rule with the cautions under 10 laps.  I cant believe that Stewart didn't win.  there's always next weekend.

It's not really a new rule. If you're talking about the single file restarts under 10 laps, that has been a rule for years.

And yes, there is another race next weekend, but 12 months until another Daytona 500.

/\ He may have been talking about the Green White Checker finish rule...

That's pretty sweet. I won't even ask how much something like that costs.

Actually is isn't too expensive...for the basic package it's around $300 and goes up from there to about $2,000 i think? The ride along is like $89, I think, thats where they take you on 3 or 4 laps with a real driver. If you do the higher level packages then you actually stay for several days to a week and race against others in your class...when I was out there, there were about 10 other cars on the track while I was driving.

They're at Fontana next weekend. And too bad it's a whole more year until the next Daytona 500. Until then, we have the Pepsi 400 in July, under the lights at Daytona to look forward to.

DreAming in DigITal: Woah, that looked cool. I want to do that sometime. A few years ago I was visiting Dover, and stopped by the track and I think the The Richard Petty Driving Experience was there doing lesssions. They let us inside the track to watch for a while to see what was going on.

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
    • Hello, Hope all is well. I am in UK.
    • I'm not happy with myself for it, but I've gone and got hold of it. Just another 45 minutes and I'll be Bond, James Bond. In my defence, IO's Hitman series is awesome, and I'm a sucker for 007. So while it might seem a bit simplified compared to Hitman, I'm sure I'll be right at home.
    • Or just check the script yourself ^^. I hate having a Microsoft account tied to my windows install.
