My Next Computer...

thats one ugly case... and are those wheels? OUCH! LOL. next thing you know you'll see your computer driving itself out the window cause of how ugly it is :|

awesome looking system. the motherboard and processor could be socket 939 *64*, but other then that, looks good (Y)

Steven is like me.

He is doing assingments and NEEDS A FLOPPY DRIVE.

If its anything like mine, IT WILL NOT SAVE TO ANYTHING OTHER THEN A a:/ Drive Floppy.

Im sure Steven would love t get rid of the Floppy, as I would. But it is not possible.

External Options do not work.

You guys pick a lot on cases..and really it's just different opinions. Practically all cases today are the same cooling wise (unless you get some wooden block for a case, which in that case..I don't know :ermm:). People have different tastes...different from yours. Who cares? It's not in your room. ;)

For those who hate the case its ok, gimme some suggestions. :)

I like the Wavemaster but it just looks too tiny inside..other help would be great! :)

Lets let up about the floppy drive already.. i don't want it.... but I have no real choice in the matter and for mere $7.00 its painless to my budget anyway.

Of course it could be.. but its not going to be. Give it up this system is going have an Intel Processor. :p

Antec powersupplies are nice, but they aren't very quiet the fan on the Neopower produces about 38db when ramped up to near full speed that's the only real con I can see with the Neopower.

I use an external usb floppy drive for when I need to reinstall windows works just fine, and you can get a snazzy black or silver one I have an Imacish looking one works just fine I have to set it up like a normal floppy in the bios and enable usb legacy support so windows setup can see the drive.

Steven(no relation same name hehe) has made it pretty clear this is an Intel system so stop pestering him with this AMD business I like AMD too, but leave that sort of fanboyish type stuff to yourself it's not welcome in this thread.

The case is just fine in a market infused with gaudy plastic bezels, and horrible looking windows and and racing stripes it looks very nice I myself would get the verison with a door as I'm not really into cases without them even if the drives color match or are stealthed it just looks blah.

I really don't like the processor, and I just had an idea, why not get a Xeon? Even a one-way system. Now that would truly kick ass and be worth it for such a large budget.

I really like the motherboard I picked out. So Xeon is out of the question.

Not a lot of Xeon mobos are gamer friendly either, and don't have all the S-ATA ports or USB that he'd need.

As far as the WaveMaster being too small inside, for what you're putting in it I think it'd be fine. I have four 5.25" devices, a floppy, 2 pci cards and 2 hard drives in mine and there's room to spare. Cable management is a breeze too, just stealth everything behind the mobo tray.

The Cavalier is nice, but without the meter on the front, and not the black and purple version the silver and blue version looks better, but it's not an all aluminum chassis the bezel is aluminum, but the rest is steel which seems to be the thing lately.

If its steel then I don't want it at all. My current case is an Antec and its heavy as ****! :s

    • AI is the justification that company administrators use to lay people off; it is not the end all, be all touted in the media (many of whom can't tell a microchip from a potato chip). Greed is main driving factor behind its adoption; the other is remaining relevant in the face of competition from other entities.
