I love how you get so offended that people try to help.  You know posts like that are inevitable no matter what you say about non-AMD setups. :p

I only get upset when I made it clear that I only want Intel and people have no regard for anything I ask, it also upsets me when they attempt to configure an AMD system that doesn't even match or come close to the configuration of the system I"m set on.

If you're going to make an attempt to throw AMD at me. Make sure its the same thing (other than Mobo, CPU and RAM....errr wait AMD doesn't use DDR2...sucks for them!).

I'm not even going to say anything, since there are fanboys just waiting in the shadows to jump on this thread.

If your still deciding on a case, have you looked at the Lian-Li PC-70? Its a large case and really nice looking. Also maybe you might want a "beefier" psu, since your going all out, have you looked into the Pc Power and Cooling PSU's? Or even the new OCZ'z? Great system setup you got going there

Okay, I have just flicked through this thread as there is quite a lot of it...

Have you looked at the Lian-Li PC-61 case?

Why a 6800 Ultra when you can get a 6800GT for a lot less and overclock? I know you love overclocking the hell outta things, so why not do it with the graphics card?

Got decent speakers to go with the decent sound card?

DDR2 isn't any faster then DDR, sorry bud.

Im pretty sure the PC&PC is better than the Neopower

It is.

^ In last months Maximum PC issue they said they were about the same but the price of the Neo is what won them over, did anyone see in the next issue PC&C wrote a letter to the editor stating that their Power supplies are much better than Antecs and that Maximum did not do hard enough tests

Yeah but think about how high you could overclock the ultra:whistle:e:

I don't have anything against Maximum PC, but they really don't know what they talking about half the time.

Honestly Steven you would think someone with your stature would know not to spread FUD about anything we all (should)know you love Intel to death big deal I like AMD but I don't spread useless fud about Intel all the time. While sensible people will understand not to bring up the Intel vs. AMD thing in this thread it's inevitable that it will happen I would think the best thing for you to do in this situation is not reply back as the replys back on the subject have been less than mature your system is nice, expensive, but nice nonetheless it uses an Intel processor big freakin' deal.

PC Power & Cooling psu's are nice they're a bit noisy, and they cost an arm and a leg, but I understand why they do quality. MaxPC is like The Screen Savers used to be and still is a novice level entertainment medium nothing you wouldn't know already.

At DDR2-5400 (675MHz) is surely faster than DDR400. Don't be silly, I don't care what the timings are. 275MHz higher is surely going to be faster than any 400Mhz Module regardless of its timings.

well..this sure seems odd coming from you...common you should know timings affect RAM performance. Sure MHz wise the DDR2 modules are faster and have greater bandwidth, but the timings still do not put it way ahead of DDR1 modules (for the time being).

Did I miss the memo or something? Hasn't it been like this for a while? I suppose the performance of DDR2 would also depend on what kind of stuff you plan on doing with this rig...unless you were going for future expandibility or something.

The NeoPower is still undoubtedly the second best PSU next to the PC P&C. Maximum PC gave it an edge because of its noise level and price. I love my NeoPower but if price wasn't the issue, I'd get the PC P&C in a heartbeat!

BTW...DDR2 is fast, sure, but so is DDR at PC4800 (600MHz) so let's not go there.

Nice system Steven. Those S-ATA Plextors should be awesome. I'm picking one up in a week to replace my Sony DRU-710A. Regardless of what others say, the 74GB Raptors in RAID 0 still owns and all of us would have one if $$$ was available....so....excellent choice there. I still agree with most others about the 6800 Ultra though. It's an expensive card that's not worth the performance considering the 6800 GT can also be clocked to Ultra speeds with relative ease. I used to have a GT, so I should know. Scored 12,700 in 3DMark 03 running at 410/1100.

For those who hate the case its ok, gimme some suggestions. :)

I like the Wavemaster but it just looks too tiny inside..other help would be great! :)

Lets let up about the floppy drive already.. i don't want it.... but I have no real choice in the matter and for mere $7.00 its painless to my budget anyway.

PC-75B with window

My question is why are you buying a 925XE Mobo with 1066 FSB and only buying a 800 FSB CPU???

I love how you AMD ###### keep coming up with computers that don't even match what the **** i'm configuring.?

Where the **** are the Raptors and the 250GB HDD i put in there or the TWIN Plextor Drives or the DDR2-5400 RAM (675MHZ)?

Your configurations are gay so unless your going to post something THAT MATCHES to a T my configuration, shut the **** up because I don't care.

Since you asked for it... heres acomparable> AMD system, which is faster and still costs less.

I find it kinda sad that someone will spend more money for less performance, just because they want to stick with intel. AMD has completely outmatched intel with there A64 yet fanboys don't want to see it.

The processor he has ordered would most likely be beaten by a 3200+ in games.

Another AMD Zealot trying to convince me that your stuff is cheaper and "faster" but yet again when configuring the computer it doesn't match the specs that I already picked out for my Intel system.

SAO,

1. You left out the 2nd Plextor Drive

2. you picked some other case at your own desire that wasn't even the lian-li I picked.

3. You only used DDR400. I want DDR675 Since i configured mine with DDR2-675 (If you can't find 675MHz then the find the fastest DDR around)

4. Looks like you left off the Antec Neopower!! What the hell do I want a TruePower 550 for?

LISTEN UP AMD ZEALOTS!! I"M GONNA GIVE YOU THE CHANCE TO CHIME IN HERE.

MAKE A CONFIGURATION THAT EXACTLY (or within the limits of the architecture) MATCHES MINE!!!!

So far in your 2 attampts you both have failed because the poster couldn't follow a simple diagram.

Steven, I should point you in the direction of the Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case: http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/tsunami/swa/swa.htm

None of this cheap rubbish, 0.8mm Adonised Aluminium all round, amazing build quality, ease of use with drive removal plus the air flow through the case is absolutely phenominal. When I moved my Pc to this case, because my room is dusty all the old bits were covered in dust from the POS i had them in before. With the 12cm intake sucking in clean air through an air filter and the 2 exhaust fans running at full wack, this case is actaully cleaning the inside of my PC for me. Every now and again I wipe the dust off the outside of the exhaust fan, dust thats coming out but not going in. I opened it up recently to change some stuff and found that almost all the dust everything had been covered in before was gone. Plus changing to this case lowered my CPU temp from 65C to 42.5C. Anyways thought u might like another recommendation for a case
