At DDR2-5400 (675MHz) is surely faster than DDR400. Don't be silly, I don't care what the timings are. 275MHz higher is surely going to be faster than any 400Mhz Module regardless of its timings.

If you're going to use DDR2 PC5400 at least compare it to a similarly clocked DDR module. Try comparing DDR PC4800 to that PC5400 and the results will be drastically different.

Your argument is rather absurd to begin with at any rate considering the P4 3.6GHz runs with a 200 MHz bus whether you're running DDR or DDR2. I doubt you will be able to overclock that proc beyond 4.0-4.2 GHz on air which would mean a mere PC3700 would be all you would need to run at a 1:1 ratio. PC5400 is extremely overkill and will never come even close to running at those speeds, even if you use cascade phase change cooling. In order to do so you would have to run your system bus at 332 MHz x 18 = 6 GHz. Good luck with that.

I find it kinda sad that someone will spend more money for less performance, just because they want to stick with intel. AMD has completely outmatched intel with there A64 yet fanboys don't want to see it.

The A64 doesn't "completely outmatch" Intel at all. The most extreme cases involve it winning by ~20 fps in games. The P4 still remains quite competitive in everything else and even comes out with its own victories in areas such as video/audio encoding as well as some content creation and multitasking. Just as he is on one extreme you are on the other side of the spectrum.

3. You only used DDR400. I want DDR675 Since i configured mine with DDR2-675 (If you can't find 675MHz then the find the fastest DDR around)

4. Looks like you left off the Antec Neopower!! What the hell do I want a TruePower 550 for?

#2, Add another plextor drive. + $125

#3, AMD does not use DDR2... so upgrade to Corsair DDR 550 which is the fastest DDR1 and still faster than DDR2-675. +$165

#4, And Downgrade to your Antec Neopower -$6, from my my True Control 550W.

#5, So remove the Lian-Li Warrior case and add the Lian Case U want.

Its still a FASTER, BETTER, MORE POWERFUL, and CHEAPER SYSTEM.

I"m going to be taking advantage of ASUS's CPU LOCK FREE and drop the multiplier to 14

14 * 332 is...... 4.6GHz I think a 1GHz overclock is possible. :D I don't expect to hit 6GHz. :)

$2815(previous configuration cost) + 125 (plextor) - $195 (remove DDR 400) + $269 (1GB Corsair DDR 550 2x512) + free 2 day shipping = $3014.

also... would u like me to downgrade the SB Audigy ZS2 Gamer to the standard SB Audigy ZS2 that one u picked also? -$50.

$3014-$50 = $2965. Which is $38 less than what u spent.

As I said, I doubt you'll be able to hit anything higher then 4.2 GHz, possibly if you use watercooling but that bus increase won't really show any noticable speed difference at any rate in real world applications. Sure your memory bandwidth benchmarks will be great for your e-penis.

My configuration is identical to his also with just an amd 4000+ cpu...

I dont kare if he wants to buy intel... whatever he buys donest affect me one bit.

I would have been just be perfectly happy if he'd say, thats a nice system and at a nice price too.

I hate to bring up the issue of amd vs intel, but come on....Intel is being left behind here. AMD already has 64-bit cpus out, Intel doesn't, and they outperform the pentium 4s in just about every category. you can't deny that the fx-55 is better than any pentium 4. if you want the next generation computer, get a 64-bit one, thats the bottom line.
