i'm so sick of these threads poping up every single week. so here's the one and only thread you should need untill the end of your life. moderator can modify poll entries to update.

I voted Norton/Symantec. I use Symantec Antivirus Corporate. I agree that Norton and Symantec should have been polled separately, as they are 2 completely different programs. It's tad bit late now though. lol

And no, It's not free. The cheapest licence is $263.00 for 10 workstations.

Can't stand Norton, I find it the most annoying out of all of those. I've used McAfee and never had a problem, and I don't get all those damn pop-ups like with Norton...

Nope, if you use as a home user (Unmanaged Client which u can choose when installing) it's free. The important thing is find a link to download the program itself... hehe... I don't know if I have the authority to post it here :-)

That's funny. SAV is a corporate program. I don't know about you, but to me corporate implies business. Now NAV on the other hand is clearly marketed for home use and it isn't free. Now why on earth would a home user be legaly allowed to use the corporate client for free when the home user client is cleary not free? Perhaps you are confused by the fact that SAV doesn't use subscription based live update and NAV does? Anyway, please enlighten us as to how SAV is truly free for home use.

I was mistaken on the cheapest price for SAV. It seams that if you by from a third party, you can get a copy for around $20.00 US.

I'm actually not using an anti-virus right now. I have Kaspersky installed but I only run it for scans. It doesn't start with Windows.

This virus program is simple, doesn't have a huge impact on system resources like many other antivirus programs.

I've always used AVG which has been quite reliable.....that is until I was told about NOD32. There was always one virus on my machine that AVG wouldn't remove, so I tried NOD32 and it handled with no problems.

NOD32 is verry good, but after my license expired i switch to f-prot because is the lightess antivirus.. only use 1.42mb ram and 406kb for autoupdate..

I use BitDefender 8 professional Plus (it has an antivirus, a firewall and an Anti Spam) and Lavasoft Pro adaware.

Great : my computer is soooo much faster than when using NAV 2004. :D
