[Definitive] Xbox 360 Thread

Recommended Posts

I just finished watching it, I have to admit I am a Xbox hater, I think the system has some redeeming points but overall I'm not a big fan of it. Although after watching that video, I almost really want a Xbox 360, its got alot of promise, I think them making it a multimedia box is a brilliant idea which is going to help them out big time, well that and the free Xbox Live thing too heh.

Then theres the price point which will be hard to digest, and sadly the games they've shown are mostly all sequels or the next iteration in the series :/ not much innovation espeially in the controller.

Yes I'm a bit of a Nintendo Fan boi but not as big as some here, but they do promise innovation, we'll have to wait til their keynotes tommrow and see what they've brought to the table.

None the less, I enjoyed watching this, it was really enthralling, I mean hell like I said I hate Xbox now but this made it pretty clear that gaming in general might just go to the Xbox 360 in the comming years, might even take over the PC market altogether, who knows, we'll have to wait and see.

if anyone saw any of the PS3 screenshots, i must say that in graphics, so far, the PS3 is beating the X-BOX360. BUT in overall features, the X-BOX360 is ahead, imo.

i just love how it integrates with the network you have and you have all the media center extender stuff in there.

Remember when Xbox 1 came out and they had **** for games... its going to be the same thing. I don't know if i should stick with Xbox cause it really didn't have any games that makes me want to stay with it. Only thing i do like about 360 is the moding you could do with it... like making it personal box. Customization... i don't know the word.

just thought i'd post this:

http://www.gametrailers.com/

it has trailers for PS3 games (from the press conference that occurred a few hrs ago) and X-BOX360

i must recommend watching the Kill Zone video :o it's AMAZING... though i don't know if that's realtime (no one does, actually)

i really want to see what nintendo has planned. then i'll be able to rationalize on which console i want. so far: x-box360

More features? Are you kidding? The PS3 has dual HDMI output for two HDTVs, three 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports for god knows what, Bluetooth for up to 7 devices, complete interactivity with the PSP, Blu ray, support for three different types of memory cards, 1080p standard, the list goes on.

Xbox 360 and PS3 have almost the same graphics. In some games, 360 is ahead. Look at Gears of Wars for example.

Gears of War uses the UE3 engine, Epic demonstrated UT2007 on the PS3 which uses the UE3 engine as well.

I think he's meaning interactivity with usb devices, the new Live features, Media Center Extender, etc.

I believe when he said more features he meant the interconnectivity with the PC, the customization, Xbox Live community, audio/video chat, Live Marketplace, downloadable demos, movies, general content, etc.

And I would have to agree with him, Xbox360 does have the upper hand in features, but spec-wise, the PS3 is impressive. However, if you think about it, its not that much higher than Xbox360s, plus the fact that they use 1 of the 8 cores in the cell processor as a 'backup' incase one of the other 8 fries should be a major concern for anyone planning on getting a PS3. I'd look into that first, we wouldn't want a relapse of the countless PS2s that went bad to happen to the PS3, now would we? :)

You shouldn't bring up ps2s going bad if you don't want to hear about xboxes lighting on fire, and then receiving a fix that merely shuts them off once they break rather than letting them light on fire. For now lets just assume that all the next-gen consoles will launch fault free until its proven otherwise. That way we can avoid flame wars based on mindless conjecture of fanboys.

Right, because that less than 1 in 10,000 chance was so much worse than the countless PS2 lasers that stopped working. Microsoft's solution? Give free power cords to all 'affected' consoles. Sony's solution? uhh.. yea..

Okay, lets stop the flaming now

Dear god if that is in game footage then I would have to agreet that it is AMAZING!

585931554[/snapback]

that is not an in game render IMO. check out how the camera pans out in the end...its either pre-rendered cinematic using the game engine (similar to what Halo/Halo 2 does) or a complete CGI render.

An optical laser failing to read is hardly as bad as the damn thing going up in a ball of fire.

The PS3 will also have online content, audio/video chat, etc.

Not in the same league as x360, after watching both Sony and Microsoft E3 press conferences i was most impressed by x360 and the connectivity it offers, the whole package is just awesome. Whereas PS3 was intensley boring, oh look GT5 that looked like GT4 with cardboard cutout trees and spectators and F1 that looked just like PS2 F1.

Sony doesnt have ANYTHING on XBOX Live and never will, Microsofts vision is amazing and im definately going to be a part of it.

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. • Seems like Neowin has transitioned into being simps for the white house. I can't find a review for the last UFC games that came out.
