[Definitive] Xbox 360 Thread

I just wonder if Sony believes that much in their online connectivity arena that they offer it free out of the box like Microsoft? I mean, they are pretty much forced to now that we know Xbox Live will be free.

And another thing that I found kind of bugged me with Sony's presentation was that all of the videos *I saw* were just tech demos. None of it was actual gameplay. Granted, the system is one powerful SOB, especially in that Unreal3 demo, but I want to see gameplay footage. I think that is why I really enjoy the Ghost Recon 3 video...it's actual gameplay. No prerendered video clips or demos...in-game footage.

All in all, I think both systems will be pretty much equal this time around. I kind of had to laugh when Sony had a presentation by the Fight Night Round 3 dude and later Microsoft had the EA Sports dude...come on, none of those games are exclusive titles.

EA is the milking both giants and will probably stand to gain the most out of the console wars.

Not in the same league as x360, after watching both Sony and Microsoft E3 press conferences i was most impressed by x360 and the connectivity it offers, the whole package is just awesome. Whereas PS3 was intensley boring, oh look GT5 that looked like GT4 with cardboard cutout trees and spectators and F1 that looked just like PS2 F1.

Sony doesnt have ANYTHING on XBOX Live and never will, Microsofts vision is amazing and im definately going to be a part of it.

yeah, the ps3 shots definitely had the aftertaste of a ps2

An optical laser failing to read is hardly as bad as the damn thing going up in a ball of fire.

The PS3 will also have online content, audio/video chat, etc.

lol, it didn't actually go on fire, parts overheated and burnt out. stop being so gullable :D

As for PS3's online content. I don't see anywhere where they said they'd have voice/video chat, I'm not doubting that they will but I havn't seen it. Besides, I doubt whatever they have planned will be able to stand up to the calibur of the Xbox Live community.

Unrelated: I love how Sony is seemingly always running out of exclusives to Microsoft (read: FF11), they keep buying things out, haha

I like the PS3, it's much more impressive, but despite that I think a lot of people including myself are going to own an Xbox 360 simply because it is arriving first. I think Nintendo have been focusing on thier handhelds to much that they have forgot about the console market.

How is it more impressive, nothing i saw bar 2 game demos (which apparently werent realtime) approached acceptable next gen graphics, Vision GT, F1, NBA, all looked like a PS2 game. Its crammed with pointless features to make people think "ooh shiny i must have one of them"

7 bluetooth controllers, whats the point, how many games are going to have 7 players, you struggle to find a game that supports 4 players thesedays its all about online gaming.

Gigabit ethernet, a lot of people that are going to buy PS3 probably wont have a PC, let alone one that supports Gigabit Ethernet.

6 USB ports, again for what, its a games console not a PC. You might have eyetoy, maybe 2 usb joypads (pointless if you have 7 bluetooth pads) keyboard and mouse.

Its all excess baggage.

i see that PS3 will have HDMI 2x.. and support future 1080p

those 2 alone would be awsome to view a game on a HDTV...

(and yes i know theres only a few 1080p compatiable tvs out there)

Does everyone agree 1080P would look better the 720P...

Has MS given specs that ive missed on what the components it will have?

HDMI DVI? etc

Xbox 360 can do upto 1080i, minimum spec for games on Xbox 360 is 720p.

i dont get what you mean by your resolution because 1080P is 1920 x 1080 if im not mistaken...

another thing about the 2 TV rule.. is i don tknow how many times ive had friends over.. playing xbox and the screen is so small of a window.. that i want a larger screen.. and in order to do this i had to get someone elses xbox and network them...

it would be Great to play multiplayer on 2 TVS with 1 consoul.. for sure!

Some people at e3 have been saying that the ps3 cant use both displays at 1080p they have to have the mode set to 720p to use both screens at the same time for very wide screen gaming.

I see this feature pointless as if i want a realy widescreen tv then id buy one and then id rather just have a generaly bigger picture so i would just get a very big TV or projector.

1080p would look very nice but its going to be a very exclusive thing to use and dont see many dev's using this option as thats one big ressolution and rather have it at 720 with better fps to support the game.

    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues. • It is when it's a desktop in my house though for a PC that's lightly used and not really important when it is. If it was a laptop, it would be a different story. The real solution is varied and begins starting at post #22 in that thread.
