Winamp CD Case Beta 8

Recommended Posts

Hello Carlos,

I have found a bug in the latest Beta 6. When a track is changed, Winamp CD case take the focus of the other applications.

I do not remember that in the previous Beta

It is rather annoying because I ended up writing a post otuside of Internet Explorer.

Thanks for your work.

Hi rbet and everybody that listen to audio CDs,

Just to let you know that the last WCC beta 7 has the following feature:

Now it's audio CD friendly.

When an audio CD is playing WCC will read and save all covers in one single folder (...\Winamp CD Case\Covers\) using the CD ID as a filename.

You don't have to configure anything, since WCC will automatically recognize an audio CD.

Just download, unzip and copy "CD Case.exe" to Winamp CD Case's folder. Don't uninstall beta 6!

;)

PS: Meshuggah, version 1.0 is almost done! :)

WCC beta 7 build 12:

- fade effects (cover from cover, case when starts, notifier)

- Improved Ogg support

- Options>Notifier remake

- Options> Read cover: added Cover's folder (all covers will be saved in one single folder from where WCC will read and save them)

- some improvements

- bugs fixed

NOTE 1: just unzip and copy "CD Case.exe" to WCC's folder. Don't uninstall beta 6. You need it in order to beta 7 run properly.

NOTE 2: WCC beta 7 will be officially released this week

;)

I just love this app, its beautiful!

A question though, the notifier's blinking with like a seconds intervall (its on for a second and then off for the next). Is this how it's supposed to be? Seems kinda annoying... Using beta 6 + now 7 build 12.

Once againg, thanx for a great app!

well now i found something i odnt like about the fading system :/

When you don't have a song playing, the cd will constantly 'flicker' on and off... It's a little distracting in a multimonitor environment when i have it on all the time.

where are the settings? are there any?If there aren't, we might need some. Sorry to put more work on you Carlos

Please try the following:

1) Go to "Winamp" Preferences (Ctrl+P)

2) Then go to "General Preferences"

3) Uncheck "Disable always on top while full screen applications are focused"

4) Press "Close" button

5) Close "Winamp"

6) Start "Winamp" again (if you want you can check that option again now)

7) Start WCC

It worked for an user but I still don't know why in some system it happens...

I know this probably is a simple answer for a stupid question, but how in the hell do you move the cd case?  It is stuck in the center of the monitor and will not let me drag it.

Just click and hold anywhere and move it...

But I almost sure you did that, didn't you?

If this is the case, do you have installed any program that changes the desktop normal behavior?

In addition, I can add a different approach to move the case for you to test.

Please contact me: [email protected]

Thanks!

No matter what I do (Winamp stopped, paused, without song in playlist...) I'm not able to reproduce the issue...

By the way, the entire case or just the cover area flickers?

As soon as possible I will add an option to disable fade effect...

    • Signal accuses UK government of using child safety as cover for mass surveillance by David Uzondu Recently, the UK's Home Office announced a sweeping set of proposals to make Britain the "first country in the world" where children cannot share or view nude photos on their smart devices, an initiative that authorities claim will protect children from online predators and combat pornography. In response, Signal believes that while the government must keep children "safe" and "protected," it should do so through social services and education, not by "surveillance, funding cuts, and cover-ups." The company called the plan "dystopian" and warned that it violates everyone's fundamental right to privacy, arguing that scanning on the presumption of nudity will only strengthen the market dominance and data control of giant corporations like Apple and Google. The statement continues by accusing the government of hiding its true intentions under the guise of child safety. Signal argues that the Home Office is building an invisible surveillance infrastructure that remains ripe for exploitation by future administrations and authoritarian regimes. According to the company, this aggressive approach completely ignores the actual needs of young people, such as properly funded schools and mental health services. Tech companies like Apple and Google have a three-month window to implement these mandatory device-level filters across the United Kingdom. If these tech firms refuse to comply with the mandate, the government will pass emergency legislation to force them to comply, threatening massive fines and even going after the CEOs of these companies with criminal charges. The technology will work by blocking explicit images directly on the operating system of all smartphones and tablets by default. This system monitors the device camera and third-party apps to intercept nudity before anyone can upload or send the image. Adults can still view explicit content, but only after completing a strict age verification check to unlock their devices. Several bodies like the NSPCC and Barnardo's praised the Home Office's decision, arguing that device-level intervention stops the cycle of grooming before it starts. The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) also supported the policy, claiming that tech companies can implement on-device checks "without threatening privacy or collecting any data."
    • Did you watch the keynote? It is way beyond what is described in this article. Looks interesting. Now it is time for them to deliver unlike what happened in 24.
