Glad to hear there will be a LE3. it keeps getting better. In addition to the previous suggestion, it'd be cool to have matching yz'bar icons. A matching calendar for Lclock would cool too. If I had any sort of artistic talent, I'd try and work them up myself...

As long as there is a thin taskbar version like we have now, I'm happy. :)

wholy...

I never wanted to do something wrong.

It's not posted as MY stuff (see description and policy-readme).

This was not done to enoy somebody or something.

But why must be your reactions such aggressive? I'm not a bad guy... :no:

:huh:

Why are you sharing my theme as your own deviation. I don't think the people who made all the stuff in you suit have given permission for you to post their work. I have no memory of giving you permission to post my theme either.

I'm just going to ignore you joseph.

I've started thinking of stuff to improve for LE3, so if you what something to be diffrent now is the time to wish for it. This is what I've thought of so far.

* new tray arrow and maybe tray area

* improved start buttons (green)

* better gradient on captionbars (not royal)

* nicer start menu menus

* maybe improved normal menus (ie rightclick)

* maybe new scrollbars

Here are my suggestions:

1. A full start menu even for compact styles;

2. An alternative start button for Royale;

3. A nicer normal menu;

4. A shellstyle ;)

Scrollbars are simply perfect the way they are... IMHO they don't reserve any improvement. Same for tray area. Maybe you can retouch the expand button for that area.

We're expecting another masterpiece, and we know it will be the ultimate milestone in VS. :cool:

You're not a bad guy, we know. But you violated DeviantArt's policy by publishing the work of someone else without asking permission. That's all, you don't deserve any sort of aggression, and we did not.

Well, you never gave credit to the original authors, you just listed what was included in the pack. It was also listed on your devART page without getting permission from the original authors.

Do you not see how people can come to the conclusion that you created it all?

Nobody's being aggressive here, em3 just asked you a question. No hard feelings, but next time give people credit and get their permission first.

Okay, you're right.

Next time I will push up my communication with any author

Glad to see LE3 will be coming our way! One thing that I have noticed (since at least v2) is an issue with Java applications. First, there are no buttons or tabs within the Java control panel. The other part is with Java related programs, such as Limewire, that will crash when I use this vs. I don't get the same problems with other visual styles...so maybe you can look into it. :)

Yes indeed although I do not utilize any Java related apps ie: Limewire, I have posted up the 'pic' of the missing buttons, ect. with the Java Control Panel Windows...

It would also be a nice change with different coloured Alt StartButtons especially for the Compact Styles...

ie: A Windows coloured Flag may look very elegant...

And thanks again for your continuing work on a very popular, pleasing VS...

:)

For the people with no buttons in Java applications, did you patch uxtheme.dll? That may be the problem. I didn't patch uxtheme.dll and all Java apps work as expected. I use StyleXP instead. It may not be a viable option for most of you who don't like using a 3rd party program to apply visual styles, but I'm just guessing it could be possible that it's an issue with uxtheme.dll.

Yes, I used the patch instead of using a 3rd party program. However, I'm not so sure that is the cause mainly because I don't have any problems with other visual styles. Guess we'll just have to see if em3 can find a fix for this issue. ;)

it is something to do with luna element 2 only as other themes do show the java buttons right,luna element 1 shows the buttons properly,i have uxtheme patched with neowin patcher 4.0 and all works,i can still see the java buttons just not the edges of them, every other theme works just something with luna element 2.this needs to be fixed.i have even tried this on other pcs, shows same thing.

Is it really a big deal though?

How often do you spend time in the Java Control Panel?

Anyway I'm using the LE 2.51 Royal and I have buttons in my Java Control Panel. Also using a patched uxtheme.dll.

:)

Well the point is not whether or not the JCP is used often or not, but to help em3 make this skin as "bug free" as possible. Besides that, issues arise when using Java apps, in that they don't skin/work properly...at least for some of us. :)

Exactely as an artist with 'perfectionistic qualities', I'm sure that em3 will fully explore this issue, as it does show-up properly in the Original LunaElement, and I have tried a lot of other VS's also by quality themers and it is properly skinned...

I too have patched uxtheme.dll, but not the one (kindly offered by WindowsX)

    • If only Windows would have a toggle switch named "Get the latest updates as soon as possible" inside Windows Update settings... But nah, let's hide the new stuff inside a controlled feature rollout, even if the user is explicitly asking for the new stuff as soon as possible.
    • After watching the Apple event earlier this week it is quite the contrast. Apple is going back and tweaking the code to make things more efficient in many areas of MacOS. Windows is boosting your electric build to hide their issues.
    • It is silly there is no simple way to check whether this profile has been activated. CFRs are normal, but trying to even hide the fact if it's on / off seems silly, especially for something so user-facing. Surely Microsoft is "proud" of their engineering efforts on this one and ought to display it somwhere in the GUI.
    • Many Linux distros are not known for excellent battery life, so I'm not sure that is the best example. A more apt example may be Apple, but Apple's CPUs are simply far more efficient than Intel & AMD at single-threaded tasks like these, so "boosting" is not as power-hungry and less heat-inducing. Not to mention Apple will hardly engage P-cores for basic UI tasks; they use a pretty complicated QoS scheme to only activate P-cores for more serious workloads like HTML / JS execution or decompression or application launch. Microsoft is (smartly) doing it for launch, but also for UI tasks, which is the more nonsensical part: why ... do Windows 11's UIs need modern CPUs to boost? It should load so quickly that there's not even time for the CPU to boost.
    • I've not seen any controlled testing and, judging by Microsoft's mentality, within a year, they'll have added so much more bloat, it'll undo any perceptible latency benefit and we'll have boosted the CPU clocks for nothing.
