Yeah, should really edit that.

Bout 1/2 hour to go :D

I was wondering, someone said that you don't really jump in the game but while you're fighting can you move around and dodge the enmies spells/attacks etc.?

I was also wondering how quickly things die, I prefer to take health off things from a distance so a bow and arrow would be best for me, but they usually don't do alot of damage so it almost always resorts to hand to hand combat. Is it posssible in this game to shoot people, run away a bit, shoot again? Kind of like a constant hit and run tactic?

And if someone (A real life player) is just wandering past in a forest or something can you kill them for experience, or gold, or items?

Thanks.

Not really, most monsters run as fast as you do. Either way, they'll close the gap if they don't like you.

I didn't end up getting the flute, or red iris flower. Is there a way to get it post-sear.

No monthly fees. Its free to play. You just have to buy the game.

what? didn't you see the red iris flowers randomly placed in pre-sear? i saw tons of'em.

Well just did my first day of gaming, and i'm enjoying it, I'm level 6 now, ranger/mesmer.

I don't think my time will shoe up in Xfire as I didn't tell it i'd installed the game but it doesn't matter, i've done about 7 hours of solid gaming and i'm enjoying it. Getting stuck, just died on some quest and there seems to be no-one selling fur squares, which I really need.

I didn't want to start a new topic..

I just got this bow deal8qo.jpg... and I was wondering what I can get for it?

I have no use for the bow so I want to know the price-range I can ask for it.

I want to get as much gold as possible :D

Value: 128 - maybe around 2000-3000g seeing it's fully upgraded.

I got this Axe last week from a guy for 400g. Lucky trade I must say. Now need to find a good upgrade for it. :D

To begin with you can upgrade your weapon with two upgrade components, anything you upgrade later will simply replace the previous one. Upgrades can be either bought from people or salvaged from other weapons you find. The latter one can only be done with an expert salvage kit. Not all weapons/items will give you an upgrade component. Only those that have extended names, such as "War Axe of Fortitude" (War Axe is plain and Fortitude bit gives extra health, you can also have an extra name bit in front.. look at Quickstrike's picture..). So depending on the extended name of the weapon you could see what kind of upgrade component might come out of it. Weapons with two upgrades will result in one upgrade component when salvaged.

Once you have a component, you simply double click on it and then click on the weapon to upgrade it. Obviously, Axe upgrades will only work for an Axe.

There're also upgrades called Runes, but those are for armor only.

Wow! A big update today:

    *  Major changes to PvP Arenas! Previously, each Arena had a separate outpost. When you joined an Arena, you continued playing on that map repeatedly until you lost. Now, the various high-level Arena maps all share a common outpost. When you enter the high-level Arena, you?ll play on many different maps with many different victory conditions, and you?ll need to master all the maps to keep on winning.

    * After each consecutive PvP victory, the game now displays the number of consecutive wins.

    * A new screen at the end of PvP character creation allows you to choose the starting location of your PvP character.

    * We retired the old ?Dazed," ?Shock Sniper," ?Divine Healer.? and ?Trapper? PvP-only character templates, and rotated in some new templates, including three new templates created by guilds that won our April ladder contest. Additionally, we tweaked the skills of many other PvP character templates. These changes only affect the creation of new characters; existing characters created with an old template may continue to use that old template.

    * You can now store gold in your account storage vault! The vault can store up to 1000 platinum pieces, and individual characters can now hold a maximum of 100 platinum pieces.

    * PvP-only characters can now access the account storage vault for free.

    * Entering ?The Underworld? now costs 1 platinum piece, the same as entering ?The Fissure of Woe." Rewards in both maps have been significantly improved.

    * New quests! In Post-Searing Ascalon: ?The Weaver of Nebo? and ?Iron Horse War Machine." In ?The Fissure of Woe:? ?Tower of Courage," ?The Wailing Lord," ?A Gift of Griffons," ?Army of Darkness," ?The Eternal Forgemaster," ?Defend the Temple of War," and ?Restore the Temple of War."

    * Primary quests in Pre-Searing Ascalon now chain together, making it more straightforward for new players to complete Pre-Searing Ascalon and gain entrance to the Academy.

    * Increased drop rates for Uncommon and Rare items in Explorable Areas.

    * Implemented various minor fixes and clarifications to existing quests.

    * Implemented various tweaks to monster difficulty and loot balance.

    * Added new boss monster encounters in the ?Ring of Fire? area.

    * Added new bonuses on certain collector and quest items.

    * Instituted skill changes: ?Watch Yourself!? correctly affects characters who were already affected by another instance of the skill. ?Firestorm? now continues to cast even if the target enemy dies during spellcasting. We?ll revise other area-effect spells to work this way in future updates.

    * The party window and account storage windows now correctly remember their position and size.

    * There are many new hints displayed in Pre-Searing Ascalon, and a new option to disable the display of hints.

    * When you gain a level, a button now appears prompting you to spend your newly acquired attribute points.

    * Quest destination points now appear on both the Map Area and Map Travel windows.

    * Most NPC text is now logged to the chat window, as well as being displayed in game.

    * Implemented various minor fixes to UI.

    * Fixed crafters recognizing high-level crafting items.

    * Fixed problems which caused excessive scarcity of Fur Squares, Linen, and Silk.

    * Implemented fixes for incorrect behavior when a player or party disconnects before the beginning of a competitive game.

    * Implemented fixes for miscellaneous rare crash bugs.

    * Added the ability to change postal mailing address on account.

    * Improved hardware compatibility.

here's a team of 6 hackin away at this monster of a beast.  we couldn't beat it.  i think it's a bug 'cause he was lvl 28 and kept healing himself over and over.  we couldn't even get him down to 50% health.  eventually gave up, ran away and avoided him.

Its not a bug. I have done that quest and I believe its the one you get for helping the dwarf or something or other. I had half my team hacking away at it and the other half which were mages, cast their magic on it. At first it feels as though you are not geting anywhere, but patience and you will get it..

i don't think he was healing himself with a spell though. because i couldn't disrupt it with my mesmer. the problem was that none of us had a good spell to use against him to bring down his hp. but still, lvl 28? wtf is up with that o_O if our lvl cap is 20 than so should the monsters :p

    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
    • Ubuntu Livepatch arrives on Arm64 to eliminate system reboots for kernel updates by Paul Hill Canonical has just announced that its Livepatch service now supports computers with Arm64 processors. For those who are not familiar, Livepatch allows users to apply important kernel updates without any service interruption or rebooting. While home users will benefit from this, it’s even more important for critical machines that absolutely should not be going offline at all. The feature is available as part of Ubuntu Core 26 for Arm64 and Ubuntu Core 20 and onwards for AMD64. According to Canonical, this will improve the security of systems that aren’t security-maintained daily or weekly, and it helps organizations work towards Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance. If you are familiar with Ubuntu, you probably know that most packages can be updated without having to restart the system. There is one big exception to this, and that’s the kernel; it typically requires you to reload the system to boot into the new kernel. With Livepatch, Canonical has done something so that you don’t need to restart to begin using the new kernel. Aside from Ubuntu Core 26, users with Arm64 chips running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS can also use Livepatch. If you want to learn more about Livepatch, check out its product page. There, you can also find a button to join Ubuntu Pro (it’s free for several home devices) so that you can enable Livepatch. By linking your computer to Ubuntu Pro, you will also extend the life of your Ubuntu install from five years to ten years. If you are running Ubuntu, let us know in the comments if you have been looking forward to this feature on your ARM-based computer. If you’ve had a compatible AMD64 machine for a while and never used this feature, let us know why in the comments!
