Everyones talking about pets, is it possible to just go off by yourself, and what makes you gain levels? XP?

If so, then can XP be gained just by quests or can you just kill stuff, and are there random animals just walking around that you can charm/kill?

Should be getting the game soon, got ?20 towards it.

Cool, I definately want to be a ranger then as I want pets. Apart from that are there any substantial things I need to know before deciding my class? I've found an online manual on the guild wars site, but surely each class will have defensive bonus' etc or offensive bonus' etc.

I only need to muster ?10, hmmmmmm.

Damn it to hell the Hall of Heros is hard. My guild and myself have been trying to win in the hall of heros for so long now. It is getting insane. The final stage of the hall of heros is a 8 team battle royale, each team made of 8 players each. It seems like the Koreans always gang up together on the Americans. The closest we have made to winning it is getting down to one team vs. our team, but they creamed us. Has anyone here won it yet?

Wait till some British get there, we'll beat them for ya :p

Maybe you should try different tactics? More jumping around so they can't manage to hit you?

I played in the HoH for around 3 hours last night. I think we encountered only one European team in that time. The majority of teams are definitely Korean and American and the Koreans seem like they have an unspoken pact to go after the American guilds first before they fight each other. There were mutliple instances where two Korean teams would attack us at the same time, but they did not attack each other.
Edit:    A quick question, I've looked at the manual and is Ranger/monk a good choice?

I'm a level 12 Ranger/Monk myself, and I must say I do not regret that I chose that combination. My best tip is that you find some friends and do your quests with them. Three Level 12 friends are better than three level 6 henchmen, keep that in mind! ;)
Do you know when your games going to arrive coz we could level together if ya want?

If you were talking to me, I'm not to sure. I'm gonna ask them to send me the key right away, but if they dont then i guess its gonna take around 2-3 days.

Well I'm trying to get ?10 by Thursday, I don't know how but I'll manage sometime.

I might just go exploring for a bit first, rather than jumping into quests as I prefer to just run around and waste an hour or two killing animals and stuff, kind of like morrowind.

Except morrowind had very few monsters in most places and too many in other places.

I'm skipping upgrading my faulty motherboard to buy this game, it better be good!

im a level 10 ranger/monk and it seems to be a pretty good combination. idk, i wish i had more spells that dealt damage though. i have created a second character that is a monk/mesmer, and he seems to be pretty strong. it all just depends on what kind of person you are. pick the profession that most suits what you would enjoy doing.

Just ordered this game from play.com for 17.99.

Anybody have any tips for starting out, choosing character/profession and anything else you can think of?

I'm a relavtive n00b to mmorpg's.

So if you use jargon tell me what the hell ya talking about after please!

Thanks.

:)

*Edit* From the basic summarys i am leaning towards the magic guy, forgotten his name. begins with E.

don't really matter which profession you start out with. they all have their advantages/disadvantages. but you DO have the pre-sear environment which is to basically get you ready and experiment before the "real" game begins.

Same here. I'll be paying it today or tomorrow depending on if i have enough time to do it.

The game takes a few days to get here so no hurry (unless they send me the key).

Hope to see ya in there soon then.;))

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
