what u mean rock?  the interview at ign.com said those were in game graphics... and even if they were cgi... they SHOULD be in game graphics, bcuz those graphics r the next generation.

so tell me this. microsofts real-time graphics are running on Alpha kits 6 months before release and thus like PC graphics at the moment but Sonys real time graphics are running on final kits 1 year before release? they havent finalised the RSX or Cell chip how can they make ingame graphics?

No, the interview with the Killzone 2 developers said those were NOT in-game and they were prerendered scenes. But thats what they WANT and HOPE for it to look like. Read before you speak or go back to the rock.

So orangesoul, you take Microsoft-provided information as divine truth and take Sony-provided information as the devils entrails. I respected you as a cohort at the beginning of E3, but now your credibility is out the door.

well... sony does have a bad track-record.

even i ran into a problem /w an md player/recorder i bought that preportedlysupported pc connectivity (file transferring, etc.)- when in reality the usb connection was as effective as an audio out to audio in on the md player.

fact is, they market to sell. misinformation has been a valuable ally in their international success.

with ms i haven't had near the problems i have had /w sony products (i was unable to return the md player, subsequentially sony gained another 250 bux result the partial truth on the package.)

my experiences /w ms's customer relations department have been extremely pleasing as opposed to sony's.

(oh, and my vaio laptop that sports 3d grafix evidently doesn't. the neomagic gpu isn't capable of it.)

Actually its not a way of reelin us in. Blu-Ray is a new disc format using Blue Lasers, it is capable of up to 100GB as of now (Thanks TDK!). Bluetooth is a wireless standard, a very good one at that. No its not about the numbers these days. Please stop talking out of your a$$.

hey orange can u answer this for all of us?..... is that stick up your ass for real or pre rendered. Most of us are getting sooo sick of this stupid argument, try focusing on something else for a while, like your plot to destroy sony after they supposedly killed your father and raped your mother

Sony: Obiwan never told you about your father.... I AM your father!

OrangeSoul: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Ummm.... Microsoft 100000000000000000000000000000000000000 Vs. Sony - (NEGATIVE) 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 ? :p

PWNED! Go Xbox 360!

edit:

on a more serious note, I DO NOT like Sony's tech support. I've had a PDA from sony and it's damn hard to get a support from them.

Microsoft has a VERY good support team that'll call you back, ask you if you're doing okay with the replacement product, and they actually did that twice to make sure.

Microsoft is a better company than Sony in general. Oh.. and I'm prettu sure Microsoft learnt a lot of lessons from the first XBox.. so, they'll probably start buying game devs. or at least get a license.

stop him cold in his tracks. :ninja:

Great to see that mature debate is not dead ;)

Look guys, this is a marketing battle - Sony and MS are not fully ready to release but these battles garner interest.

They don't care if they release lies as it's just to gain interest.

all too similar to political campaigns ;)

(all sides, no sides; whichever cheese flogs your mote.)

understandably a very biased article. it still comes down to the games though. people can keep arguing about the power and speed, but the spec is useless if neither console has a range of games that are good and appeal to a wide range of people.

Its been said that it WAS pre-rendered concept of how they want the game to look.

This is an absolute ****ing match between two consoles that in the end will be almost identical in performance. It's so immature.

I'm starting to see why Nintendo wouldn't want to release specs.

I lost respect for all fanboys (true fanboys, a fanboy is not the same as a fan) long ago.

For the love of god, why is this in back page news. This isn't even news. Orange, you claim as soon as Sony posts better specs that you will "wait and see", but as soon as MS posts 360 specs tht show a hint better than PS3 you post them in back page news. I know we arent' supposed to bash other members, but this is getting sickening. Clogging up multiple parts of the forums with early, unfinalized, and otherwise FAKE numbers.

We are going to have like 7 months of these posts. And MS and Sony will issue PRs updating their specs are faster then their competetors.

People have to learn to wait till we see the consoles before stating which is better.

What exactly is the definition of "better" here anyways?

A console that can cook you dinner and have 10 trillion floating point calculations is better then one then can clean your room and has 9 trillion floating point calculations?

All that matters are the quality of the GAMES and what new ideas they bring to the gaming world.

I bet you the hardware is very similar and both are capable of probably the same thing.

All that matters are the developers, and how they use the power of the console.

Edit: Wow that article is so bias, M$ has to be paying a lot of reviewers off to write crap like that.

Orange Soul, you are such a fanboy. That is just a reposting of the same bogus numbers that were on the Xbox Live employee's blog.

You cannot add up memory bandwidth like that. It does not work that way in real life and the shared memory will cause memory contention issues between the GPU and CPU slowing down performance or it will be a real b*tch to program to avoid the contention.

    • Do you live in the U.K? Do any of the people here that are against the UK leaving the E.U, live in the U.K? If not then why are you bothered? If you do live here then it is a different thing . Brexit was a good idea, should have done it years before, it was done badly, but the idea was good. You are saying the same thing as remainers do, oh we did what Putin wanted, we listened to the lies and Farage. I hate Farage and never believed most of what he said, certainly did not believe the £350m a week for the NHS. But we did pay a lot of money to the E.U and yes some of it came back, but what is the point of paying it out for only some of it to come back? Get out of the E.U, no money to them and in theory we can use the money to do things in the country. I said in theory, but our governments are a total and complete waste of space. No matter what colour rosette they wear. You and others say it was a mistake and yet the two main parties in the U.K are not looking at rejoining the EU, I wonder why that is? I was not tricked by anyone. Makes no odds now, we are out and have been for 10 years, what we need is a decent government to run the country. All they do is shout at each other like a load of kids and seems to do nothing and make this country more into a police and nanny state. Getting more like China all the time.

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
    • Decentralized search result anonymization...
    • Russia invaded Crimea, so not sure what you are getting at. Are you saying that the E.U is like what the USSR was? What is wrong with wanting control over your own country? i bet Trump would not stand by and allow Canada to control the U.S.
