Big thanks to dragon2611 for helping me track down the issue with NeoCleaner not closing when using Update Agent.

We suspect that this issue is caused by MS AntiSpyware blocking the attempt to send a close message from Update Agent to NeoCleaner.

If you would like to help us confirm this suspicion, shut down MSAS, then try to perform an update. If Update Agent properly closes NeoCleaner for you, then this will confirm the suspicion.

The easiest fix for this problem is to close NeoCleaner manually before downloading the updates.

NeoCleaner 0.2.0.0 (BETA) is now available via the installer and NeoCleaner's Update Agent.

Changes:

- Fixed the "53:Error in call to BeginDownload()" message box bug.

- Removed the listbar control. No longer needed.

- Removed the toolbar and rebar controls. No longer needed.

- Added option to automatically clean after analysis.

- Added option to automatically close the cleaning results after cleaning.

- Improved closing of NeoCleaner when updating in Update Agent.

- Added clipboard cleaning.

Gave me the nclistview.ocx error on desktop, redownloading installer.

Edit, reinstalling got it working again

seems there still some bugs in the autoupdate

Now it's running OK.

Just one feature request: would be great if you modified the selection by groups checkboxes that clicking on the text that describes the group (Windows, Internet Explorer, etc.) would act as the checkbox, as in the main area. Hope you understand.

New version available.

Version 0.2.0.2 (BETA)

- Fixed bug where total savings would keep adding the old analysis to the new one.

- Increased timings in Update Agent to possibly update better.

- More stable update agent settings implementation, better for mirror adding/removing.

- Added more error handling to RemovePrograms_Refresh().

- Added more error handling to UpdateMainForm().

- Added dragon2611's mirror to servers.ncdata.

Dragon, this build is the first one with a major re-write to the update agent code regarding selection of the update server, and updating to a beta. I should of provided this update as an installer. Try to edit your registry as follows:

Reg Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Night Iguana\NeoCleaner\Update Agent\

Create a new string value: "Beta Updates". Set to 1.

This should force a beta update.

Mirror Providers: Although it's still pretty early, you can create a mirror by giving me an ftp account. I need the domain, username and password. Once I have that information, I will add the ftp info to my sync software and add your mirror to the servers.ncdata file.

New version available. This build is only available as an installer.

Version 0.2.0.3 (BETA)

- Extended computer cleanup category check boxes to make the caption clickable.

- Fixed black toolbar button bug with windows classic themes.

- Fixed toolbar separators with windows classic themes.

- Merged all controls into NCControls.ocx.

Download: http://www.nightiguana.com/files/NeoCleanerSetup.exe

does that include the systray icon?

as msantispware runs some background agents unless you disable them or close it 2

yes i had it completely off (see the taskmanager a couple of posts up)

tried to update today, said I had the newest version, used the installer to get version 0.2.3 (typo? shouldn't it be 0.2.0.3?). seems to be fine for now :)

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
    • Ideally, the algorithm is smart enough to see the real sender ID and non-spoofed address to block it. Ideally.
