shadowcaster
Got a question - does the joystick wear out after some time? I heard from friends that they get broken after around 2 years. Pc_Madness
Got a question - does the joystick wear out after some time? I heard from friends that they get broken after around 2 years. Who would want to use the same phone for 2 years? (and has this phone been out that long? :\) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/327803-sony-ericsson-k750i/page/24/#findComment-587249183 Share on other sites

Wannes
Yep mine is too, luckily I don't intend to keep a handphone for very long. The K700 does look sweet. Anyone have a direct link to the latest firmware update for the K750i cause I don't get the SE site... Wannes
I can't seem to be running the upgrade. It says remove sim card, put batt back in, press C en connect USB cable. I do that (connecting cable while holding C while phone is off) but then I can't go further. I am not getting a next button... TheRealDave
Got a question - does the joystick wear out after some time? I heard from friends that they get broken after around 2 years. Yeah, mine's worn out pretty bad. I've got to try pretty hard to get the down option to work (k700i) but i've had it a long time now. Just waiting for the K800 to come out! :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/327803-sony-ericsson-k750i/page/24/#findComment-587273751 Share on other sites

It's a major problem, they should have included better drivers on the CD. Syxxpacc
today i managed to see that my battery back cover wasnt really firm and made a gummy noise on my w800i :) so i searched the forums and saw im not the only one with this problem so i googled and found a nice topic in esato forums that had a nice fix for it, and knowing that the problem is on lot of SE phones i thought i'd share the topic here: I stated earlier that I wouldn't post anymore, and I wont, but some people here have been very helpful to me, so I'd like to share this to those who had the same problem as me - a battery cover that fits a little loose for the K700i after having opening it a few times (it also happens after a lot of pushing on the keypad). The reason that the cover gets loose and feels badly fitted is that when it's being pushed in order to take it off, the side part of it is stretch out and looses capability to hold the phone as hard as it takes to feel solid. This also goes for doing a lot of typing on the keypad since that has the same effect (the backside of the phone is pushed a lot while holding at the back of the phone). Here's the fix: Take the battery cover off. Using your thumb and long finger, push the two sides of the cover hard together so you actually see that they move closer together. Now comes the important part to make the trick work: Hold this position for one minute. It will make the cover stay in this "tighter" form. Now, put the cover back on the phone. You will now experience that it's very very tight to put it back on and the fit is very very solid. I did it a week ago and the fit has not changed back even though I use the phone very extensively. To push the sides of the cover hard together for a minute makes the shape shange into a position that it should have had from the beginning. This post was posted by CyberVisitor and the original thread can be found here hope it helps those who have the same problem :) cause i got it fixed like that Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/327803-sony-ericsson-k750i/page/24/#findComment-587320202 Share on other sites
icecream
I'll probably buy one next week, I hope the phone will be good for the next 2 years. I'm replacing my p800 because that one feels to big and battery needs to be recharged every 2 days while I only send around 5 sms messages a day (no phone calls). what new java programs (not games) did you install on your k750i? like e-book readers, photo manipulators, biorythm programs, tv or pc remotes... Phillian
I think if you update your firmware to the latest version, you wont have the problem? I'm not entirely sure as I have only had mine for 2 months Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/327803-sony-ericsson-k750i/page/24/#findComment-587324068 Share on other sites

witalit
The problem with the joysticks is dust not wear. Well im guessing it is because when I took my K750i apart to change the case it had loads of dust under the joystick I cleaned it a bit and it did make a difference. Maybe this is the problem? icecream
Non. Nokia phones excel in this area (Symbian). what a pity, but I guess I can live without those extra programs, the k750i already seems to be loaded with built-in apps that will do the job. Phillian
The K750i is capable of reading .doc and excel documents, just save them onto phone memory in Web Pages folder. www.getjar.com has lots of useful apps too Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/327803-sony-ericsson-k750i/page/24/#findComment-587324540 Share on other sites
