I'd like Safari 2.0 a lot more if it didn't leak like an old woman in depends.

ROFL

I always used firefox, until tiger, the more i use safari, the more i see how firefox is lagging behind (pc version is still good though, just the mac client)

meh I still hate that there are certain sites using activex or other proprietary ie coding that I can use my powerbook on, also safari gives me a weird bug where it darkened images on a webpage im working on, i dont get why the hell it did it because on every browser they are fine (they are rounded corners on the edges of a colored table cell, so the darkening causes them not to match ruining the look on safari. Other than that bug I use safari for everything except when i have to paste a download link, safari doesn't know to ask me to download it and instread loads it as a text file, no fun with a 100mb file, so i open up firefox and it works np.

Hold the option key when entering something into the address bar and pressing enter, causes Safari to download that file, as opposed to rendering it! ;) :)

I thought of trying camino after reading this thread.. but tbh, i felt safari was way better so i went back to it. I tried firefox it they definetely feels more at home on the pc.

My only gripe with safari, is that it views images at full scale, when i would like it to be squashed in the window so i can see it all without scrolling.. :sigh:

I recently switched back from Safari 2.0 to OmniWeb 5.1. Now that i have a 20" Cinema Display, and evidently alot more screen real estate, I vote for OmniWeb. It's refreshing, but not for those running in lower resolutions...

I use Safari the most and I love it although I have been using OmniWeb more and more over the past week or so. I've had it in my Applications folder for ages but I dug it out just to have a play with it again.

I like it, it's fairly quick and I like the Tab Drawer. I still prefer Safari though.

Safari is definitelly the quickest, but that aside, Opera all the way. Safari can't offer the features and customization of Opera, and Firefox is slow as crap, be it on OSX, Linux or XP..

in fact, Opera is the best browser on ALL platforms. i have it on my Linux and XP rigs too. beats the default (Firefox and IE) browsers in every aspect.

it's funny but I'll bet people voted Firefox without knowing that it is the slowest browser (when it comes to starting up) than the others.

It also doesn't support some sites such as odeon.co.uk on the Mac for some reason.

The best two were Safari, and in some instances IE.

(and it doesn't need to be supported to be good for what it's needed for).

Oh did you say idiot? because it seems to me you're trying to force your opinion on people without respecting theirs *sighs*

Oh did you say idiot? because it seems to me you're trying to force your opinion on people without respecting theirs *sighs*

For your information, I voted Safari, because it is the best looking, fastest loading, fastest with Java, fastest with JavaScript, and the most intuitive to use. I also like the fact that it is based on the standard-compliant KHTML rendering engine. Firefox and Camino lag behind in terms of speed, but they make up for it in features, especially Firefox with web-development. On the other hand, IE is not good looking, not as fast at loading, rendering HTML, Java or JavaScript, is neither intuitive nor easy to use, offers no exclusive features, and is NO LONGER FECKING supported on the Mac platform!! So yes, the 8 people who have now voted for Internet Explorer are IDIOTS. The people who believe it is #1 on Mac are either living under a rock or pushing special interests. Either way, they are idiots. So before you go calling me out on not knowing my facts, look at your own ignorance. I respect the opinions of others, when they are educated. You are not.

You said:

Did you know that not all sites are designed properly? Including your example: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%....odeon.co.uk%2F

Maybe you should know something about the Internet before you make up problems with good browsers and call informed people out when in fact you are among the idiots I speak of.

In conclusion, the following browsers (the ones listed on the poll) have the following strengths:

Safari : FASTEST at EVERYTHING, based on open-source KHTML, standard compliant, easy-to-use, and visually stunning

Netscape : None, but no one picked it thank God

Firefox : Based on open-source Gecko rendering engine, standard compliant, easy-to-use, and feature-rich, especially with extensions

Internet Explorer : Partially standard compliant, not the slowest, BUT IS NOT THE BEST AT ANYTHING, and as a side note-it isn't even supported... it also boasts the largest IDIOTIC user base ;)

I don't know why I chose to waste my time destroying you, but I felt it was necessary for you to get a clue before you make baseless accusations and uninformed opinions.

Have a nice day!

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display.
