Wickedkitten Veteran Posted August 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 16, 2005 Be careful with those Radish, they break Saft fairly often, which is my main reason for not doing it until each Saft update.Oh, and does anyone know why the Acid2 passing code hasn't been merged into the nightlies yet? 586386235[/snapback] Haven't broken saft for me yet and as far as the acid2 passing code, it works fine. When I visit the Acid2 test page it still renders incorrectly. Confusing. I'll try and update again. I just ran NightShift again, and forced it to download Tuesday's nightly despite it telling me I already had it. And this still happens: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/331533-best-internet-browser-for-mac/page/4/#findComment-586387514 Share on other sites
RadishTM Veteran Posted August 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted August 16, 2005 All working fine for me with the nightly, since Saft was broken with the Apple security update I edited Saft's .plist to work with the new version of Safari. BTallack
I just installed the Nightly of WebKit and the Acid test almost works right for me. Everything except the eyes show. I just have to remember to load WebKit instead of Safari now. Is there anyway to have Safari automatically use the latest WebKit? ANova
For Windows: IE (it's just the fastest and most responsive assuming it's properly configured) OSX: Safari Linux: Opera Opera would be a close second for all machines though. gigapixels Veteran Posted September 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2005 Other -> Camino... Camino works like Firefox, but is better in the fact that it's built only for Mac and therefore works exactly how a Mac program should. Firefox is annoying since it doesn't quite "fit in" with other programs. You can tell it's a ported program, I guess. I see in Deer Park that it is being done better for Mac, but it is still nowhere near as good as Camino is in that respect. In any case, it shares Firefox's Mozilla core, so it still has the same Gecko engine with good standards support, etc. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/331533-best-internet-browser-for-mac/page/4/#findComment-586533374 Share on other sites
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted September 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2005 Safari, it's been pretty slow, but lately it has sped up alot, and it supports some CSS that Gecko doesnt. also, Safari RSS isn't a browser, it's a feature in a browser. DrunkenMaster
Voted other - for Shira. It needs some work and bug fixes (crashes a bit) but its really fast. Firefox is still sluggish compared to Windows. NeoTrunks
So far, Safari. Though, I'm waiting on the final version of FireFox 1.5. So far, a few things don't work, like viewing embedded QT movies. At least not for me.
