Lets see. Many people its going to say Favre or Marino. statistically they are.

But I think that the title should be reserved for the one who made his team win and that, my friends its no other than the great Montana.

Elway also its in a close second.

P.D.: If Brady wins another Bowl he its going to top Montana easily.

Joe Montana.  This isn't even close.

Elway has no business being on this list.

Come on, give him some credit...his RB's won him the rings :p

Oh please. While Davis was amazing (I am still think that he is the real best RB ever, but his injury was too much) no team go to the superbowl and wins (Two times in a row) without a good QB.

Elway was amazing. The captain comeback gentlemen.

I'm not discrediting him for his rings, I'm just saying that he deserves credit for winning the rings along with his RB's. No team will ever win a Super Bowl without a good RB.

Superbowl XXXVII Winner: Tampa Bay. No good RB

Superbowl XXXVI Winner: New England. No good RB at that time

Superbowl XXIX Winner: 49ers. Horrid RB at that time (Wasnt Garrison "Irregular" Hearts their RB at that time?)

Without Davis, Elway was 0-3...and two of them being some of the most embarrassing defeats in SB history.

Hey, at least he was at the SB 3 times (I am looking at your direction Marino) :p

Let me correct myself, if I may: It's very rare for a team to win a Superbowl without a good running back.

Better? ;)

montana now.

brady may beat him soon, which is scary....

you just can't consider marino the best, he's missing the ring.  to be the best, you have to win.

Being the best QB doesn't mean you must have a ring... You team could be really bad, and that is no reflection of your skills... He does have the record for having the most records you know.. Had he had some better players around him, he would prolly have a few rings. Gotta admire him for sticking it out as long as he did! My vote goes to Dan Marino!

In that case, looks like Brady will be the all-time best in no time.  Seeing as he didn't even play in the NFL until Bledsoe got injured, he has the story of an underdog, which is always favored.

But still, he has prove that he is not only surrounded by a good team, he is a true leader and an excellent player.

Not all underdogs are overrated. Look at Steve Young.

What I meant about underdogs being favored is that people look at adversity when ranking athletes, and obviously, as of now, Brady has had more adversity than Montana. Underdogs are almost never overrated, just like last year's Pistons in the NBA and the Marlins against the Yankees.

Or we can remember Mark Brunell (My biggest football dissapointment in my life) or Jamal Anderson :p
