Schmoove I completely agree. Gnome is much better then KDE (I tried out kubuntu in vmware).

Hey Knight,

How does FreeBSD perform on your vaio? I've got a Sony VAIO PCG-R600HFPD and running FC4 on it and it's a bit slow.

BTW, is it easy to get FreeBSD on the laptop, and do you happen to know how to adjust the brightness while on battery?
