True that, lets not let it die, but I think we need to get excited about a new Metal release... Anyone got suggestions?

Lucky ******!! I badly want to see Amon Amarth - shame I left Canada just before they arrived

As for album recommendations:

1349 - Hellfire (Black Metal)

Vinterriket - any album they've made!!! (Dark Ambient)

Lykathea Aflame - Elvenfris (Symphonic Death/Progressive Metal)

In fact just check my metal site out, I review a fair amount each month and I'm sure you'll find some ideas for albums on there ;)

You have some nice reviews on there :woot:

Some nice reads. :D

We went to see Inflames with Motorhead the other night, quite a drive there and back, and I had work the next morning which combined with a stomping 10 day old headache meant I left right after inflames, and didn't see motorhead. Felt kinda disrespectful, but at the end of the day I'm just not into them.

Inflames were great, well worth the money + trip. I can't wait for Come Clarity, I've heard only *very very* good things so far!!!

Nice site... there are some pretty nice reviews.

I will need to check out some of those album recommendations.

I love Dimmu Borgir and I wasn't too happy with the re-recording of Stormblast. I guess I got used to the "new" Dimmu. And In Flames' new album is pretty good. I haven't quite got my teeth really sunk into it, yet. I'm sure the more I listen to it the more I'll like it.

Found a great Death Metal band named Psycroptic (http://www.metal-archives.com/). Really good technical Death. Also I've been listening to a lot of Iniquity (Death Metal from Denmark) which is also good stuff. And lastly, Crowpath. Spazzy/Technical Metal from Willowtip (really awesome stuff).

I've been listening to Psycroptic for over a year, and I agree. They're an excellent tech-death outfit, and definitely one of the best Aussie bands out there. If you haven't, try to score a copy of their self-released first album, Isle of Disenchantment. It's not quite as good as their first label album The Sceptre of the Ancients, but very good for an independent release.

If you try In Flames, listen to their older stuff... the newer stuff isnt that good. I suggest anything from Reroute to Remain and before that.

Colony was one of their worst albums..very nu-metal type stuff. New album is much heavier

yep, I have both those albums. Recently discovered Solitude Aeturnus which is a killer heavy/doom metal band from Texas. I'd heard of them before but never really listened to them until now. Amazing music with some killer vocals. Also been listening to a lot of Neuraxis, and I can definitely say this is some of the best if not the best current death metal out there. Great technicallity and musicianship from these guys. Both bands highly recommended.

On topic: Lately I've been listening to Chimaira's selftitled, it rawks, lol. Can someone recommend me some other Chimaira stuff... Or similar trash/metalcore bands? Thx.

Check out Bleeding Through, I have a review for their new album up here:

Bleeding Through - The Truth @ Astrofaes Metal Domain

It's definitely their best album to date - highly recommended to fans of melodic deathcore (Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour etc.)

    • This makes me think of Dune for some reason.
    • I'm too old to return to the "good old days" when I was installing custom ROMs and tinkering with my devices - now I just want to turn it on and use it. I've read that banking and payment apps work on Murena /e/OS (I'll have to check the ones I use) and I also really want to support Fairphone 😉
