Wow, it's terrible. The file menu is locked below the tabs. Using Luna, the file menu looks extremely bad because it's too thin. The forward button is cut off on the right. And, in all their genius, they set the default search engine to google.

The only good thing, that I've seen so far, is the support for png alpha blending.

Any improvements in rendering? Does CSS and transparent PNG's work as promised?

I think it's more likely YOU set the default search engine to google. genius indeed.

"Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 is available now in two versions: a standalone version for Windows XP Service Pack 2, and an enhanced version that is built into Beta 1 of Microsoft Windows Vista?formerly Windows code-named ?Longhorn??to take advantage of new features of the Windows Vista platform."

what are the "enhancements."

I installed and it was set on google. I've never used IE for searching and have never set a default engine.

A lot of "spyware busting" apps seem to do that though (set http://www.google.com/) as the default search then lock it down (i know spywareblaster, which i use does.).

A lot of the enhancements, I believe, will be in the rendering side of things. Like I said, PNG Alpha blending finally works and I'm sure CSS support has improved.

Tsk tsk, kids these days

lol! I'm probably old enough to be your dad.

I just hate how people add in those smart@ss remarks when someone mentions a program that they hate.

Oh and "Tsk tsk, kids these days" was exactly what came to my mind about your comment in the first place.

Just installed IE7 and I must say I am surprisingly liking it. Tabs look very nice, better than FireFox. Add On Manager-IE7 has extensions, I can see a whole lot of new extensions coming out for IE7. Over all the SP2 version GUI is very attractive and will now give Firefox a run if not better than the default theme in Firefox. IE7 seems to improve on rendering as Web Pages come up smooth-fast and Flawless.

Phishing Filter has excellent Artificial Intelligence from what I have see thus far.

Yes you will need to Validate Windows in order to install IE7! ;)

    • Everything I have read is that the BBC is still Pro Doctor Who but wants a solid plan before they let anyone else try to do it. Which is fair.
    • I totally agree no one should trust governments AND big tech companies that have near monopolies in certain market segments. The difference is of course citizens at least have some say in government. Yes, requiring Apple to open up Sirsi to other AI backends is in the interest of EU customers and certainly "opens" up the platform a crack. What are you saying? I wish the US would regulate tech companies more here and even break them up in some cases. Granted trusting the government to do it right is a crap shot at best but what is the alternative? To allow a few tech companies to continue to run everything and just print money? It's crazy to me for example that in most of the world 99% of communications go thru Facebook servers via WhatsApp. What kind of dystopian world are we living in?
    • You can.. make sure you have ADB tools on whatever OS you are running, plug your phone into your PC give it approval to talk to the phone then run this command. adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.chrome So long as you leave Android Webview untouched it wont break anything on your Phone to do this. I have been using exclusively Firefox mobile since it was released.
    • If it ain't broke, don't fix it. One Commander Free also available in the Store has been my goto Files Manager for years. It does what I need at a more than reasonable speed. I do occasionally use Files Explorer just because it is there and does what I need without any problems when I use it.
    • I think you missed his point. He wasn't saying that cloud storage isn't possible on GNU/Linux, clearly it is. He was pointing out that you are commenting about your dislike of Windows on an article about OneDrive (not Windows) for Mac (also not Windows). Its about as off topic as coming to an article about Sony improving something on the PlayStation and saying that you hate Sony TVs and prefer LG.
