Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1

As it is now i can't see much diff in speed. below is a picture of what happens when you hit Alt-F4 and close IE or if you hit the E in the cornor and hit close.

Also if you have the Popup blocker on *or if you turn it off* and try to attach something (like a pic to this post) the bloody info bar will come up with the "popup info* even if you add the site to the list/turn the popup blocker off OR hit ctrl it still wont let the popup threw.

I don not like the UI, way too much blank space to visually pleasing. The fact I can't right click a link and open in a new tab is quite annoying. I like my tab bar to hide when I only have one open . . . I just don't see why everyone is so excited, I feel like I have no control over this browser. I'm trying to get into it and use it see if I suddenly just go like "WOW! This really does make sense!" but it's really just . . . blah

Anyone try Windows Update with IE7B1? It seems to be infinately "searching for updates for your computer" for me.

so we assume the worst that IE7 is no good with Windows Update, can XP still acure the update?...

Been using it for some hours. It's quite good. Apart from the toolbar arrangement and lack of CSS support it's OK.

It's good in some aspects, disappointing in others.

I'm never going to get used to the tabs being above the main toolbars.

Just downloaded the IE7 beta from MSDN and would like to try it out although I do not have a test machine.

Can I uninstall IE7 if I do not like it? Will IE6 SP2 be restored? I dont want to have to format over this.

It is uninstallable from Control Panel -> Add / Remove Programs ... make sure you click the "Show Updates" checkbox at the top if you can't find it in the list.

Works fine for me... must be something specific to your machine... But once again it is Beta 1, it is supposed to have glitches here and there... So that they can fix them later, by final release.

Favourites doesnt work for me, I just hear a ding when I click it.

Maybe I didn't notice this before, but the Icon option in IE7 is tied to Windows Explorer? I'd like IE7 to keep using it small icon option and Windows Explorer to be at Large. Now it seems I can only have either.

hmm really not keen on this, the tabs look ugly, and i hate having to have file-edit-view etc, under the taskbar and tabs. unless you can have it above.. and i havnt worked it out yet. :s

If anyone is having trouble installing ie7b1, i just worked it out: someone probably already has tho.

In IE6, go Tools>Manage Add-ons blah blah, disable the WGA checking thing (LegitCheckControl.dll), and then delete it from WINDOWS\System32.

Then IE7b1 should install. Just figured it out by fiddling. Hope this helps someone.

What MSDN level are you? I'm Enterprise and it's not showing in my list.

Yep - doesn't work.

Works well in IE6 and Mozilla though.

I Was Having the same problem with accessing my favorites, Closed the browser and restarted works fine now.

The only other issue I have now is accessing Yahoo Mail.

(Can access it but makes you use a crappy version)
