Here's a quick comparison:

Trust me, it's a bigger change than the XP Flag and Vista Flag. ;)

I do like it, but I would not go as far as saying it is a bigger change, as it really is not a huge change at all. Let me explain myself.

You put a tasteful bevel and emboss, mixed together with some other Blending Options thrown in there, my guess is some slight Satin , slight Inner Glow perhaps, and then a drop Shadow?

Then you put a white circle behind it all that also has some Blending Options, (emboss , outer glow, and drop shadow or something similar) and it was done.

It does look nice, yes, and I am not trying to knock it at all, but it truly is not really a change at all, it is simply just more stylized.

Yep... it wasn't the first Neowin logo, though... you all remember this:

yyyyyyyipes, kinda glad I wasn't around for that one(no offense)

I was kinda like "neh, I likes the current one" till I saw them directly compared, (Y)

now I have to change my shortcut icon....

I liked that one back in the day :ninja: and still do

Everyone has to start somewhere.

When I first saw this new logo I have to say I didn't really like it, but after seeing the resized version, and imagining it on a new design, it's starting to grow on me.

I really like the simple version, very nicely done, but the 3D effects on the main thing look a bit messy, perhaps it would be better without that inner glow?

Overall, good job FlishFun, I'm sure it'll look great on the new design, and I'm looking forward to seeing it :)

@mercuryx013 - It will be similar to what we use currently for the Lite theme, just tweaked so it fits the current mockup's themeing... like so:

That looks about a thousand times better than the ones you've got in the first post (and the one that you're using on the front page already).

    • In the past few days I have noticed two odd moderation activities. First, when I posted the term 'White Nationist Christian' it was asterisk's out. When I changed it to **** it was allowed! Second, in the Politics is a ###business thread I was allowed to post that the GOP is a party of p e d ophiles but I was censored  when I posted the GOP are a party of p e d ophile protectors. Wtf Neowin. Please explain.
    • BS, I've yet to run into a typical pc user that uses it at all, let alone half the population.
