In Group F managerless Real Madrid went down 2-1 to greek side Olympiakos, Sergio Ramos put the spanish side in fron early on in the game, but goals from Bulut and Rivaldo gave the greeks victory. But Real Madrid still go through in second place, as first place goes to Lyon who defeated Rosenborg by 2-1, Benzema's first half goal for the french champions was cancelled out midway through the second half by Braaten for Rosenborg, but an injury time winner by Brazilian youngster Fred seals a great group stage for Lyon.

Did anyone see Essien's tackle on Hamann? That was a shocker it could of ended his career! Essien is a very lucky person fornot seeing a straight red. He is already building upa bad reputation because he has done a few horror tackles since arriving at Chelsea.

Fair play to Hamann for not making a big thing of it as he could of done, especially as it nearly broke his leg. I just hope UEFA look into this.

:o

On a brighter note, it was yet another good performance for Liverpool. We finish top of the group and have not conceded a goal in nine games, which is some record.

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has apologised to Dietmar Hamann for his horror tackle in midweek.

Liverpool's German midfielder Hamann was left with bruising on his knee after being caught by Essien during Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash.

Essien was hit with a Uefa charge after the challenge was not spotted by match official Herbert Fandel and he has moved to apologise to his Liverpool counterpart.

A Chelsea spokesman said: "Michael has spoken to Dietmar by telephone this evening.

"He apologised to Dietmar, assured him the tackle was accidental and that there was no malicious intent."

Essien has been hit with a gross unsporting conduct rap and Chelsea have until December 14 to respond to the charge.

It was a terrible tackle, could of ended Didi's career :(

    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
    • Outlook classic is inherently better than new outlook, for a number of reasons. That said, if the only reason people need office is to read email, they should just use thunderbird.
