Transmission

Recommended Posts

I've get it, and watch it. Unfortunatly I'm at work and I cannot test it. But for what I've seen so far it lacks of settings. I haven't found any single tweak setting, I mean, I'm not asking the complete Azureus set, but at least something would have been helpful.

By the way I'll try to download something later tonight and see how it works....

Thanks for the tip!

I downloaded 4 files with it ranging from 16 MB ~ 2,2 GB haven't had any problems with it (yet). The lack of preferences is a con but hey it's just the 2nd release since 15 Sep 2005.

I'd like it to remember the window size I set it to from last time I used the app, & a 'Reveal in Finder' button so that when you've completed a d/l you can jusmp straight to it :)

I've added those 2 things as a request on their forum. They were bugging me too. ;)

OMG! I'm testing it now... and it's awesome!

No settings at all, and it goes fast! It connects to seeds and peers in no time.... really awesome.

I'm impressed because I have a line that's always a pain to use with bittorrent (I'm with fastweb, 6mbit but without a public ip address), I always have to tweak azureus to get some decent speed.

Really impressive, 5 stars for me! :D

Tomato Torrent is also a pretty lightweight bittorrent client although most of the time I use Azureus for its UDP tracker protocol support.

Downloaded it, installed it, tried it, trashed it, secure empty trashed it.

I wasn't really satisfied with Tomato Torrent. :pinch:

Based on that screen shot, I don't think I'm even going to use the program. The fonts are way too blurry. How am I even supposed to read what I amm downloading?? :shifty:

I've been using Azureus because I can decide which parts of a torrent get downloaded. Its handy when you only need 5% or 50% of a large file.

For all the people saying Tomato doesn't have as much polish as Transmission, where in Transmission do I go to see how much data I've uploaded, how many seeds and peers there are, define specific ports per torrent, etc?

It's still in early beta stage...

At the bottom of the screen you can see the total amount uploaded.

Anyway I can't stand Tomato Torrent (even the name is bad) so I rather use this.
