Logitech UltraX Keyboard

I had that for a while, but I found Speed-Link Ultra Flat Metal Keyboard and I gotta say it's much better than Ultra-X. (If you are wondering about Speed-Link, it is the same company that makes Razer mouses.)

I was just about to buy Ultra-X and I saw your post, can you expand please as to why its so much better?

Thanks!

because it's more expensive...

there's several reasons why i love my ultrax, firstly because it's so damn good looking, none of that extra stuff that just looks out of place and secondly because I can press as many keys at the same time as I want (good for gaming) which some keyboards have issues with.

the only real qualm I do have is the fact that because the keys are so thin, I had to turn my keyboard slightly so I could hit the space button easier, apart from that it's great!

Sry for the late reply. Well I think UltraX works as good as Speedlink but Speedlink is much nicer to use because of the laptop keys, UltraX doesn't really have that. Other thing is that Speedlink is all silver, all metal, really flat and clean.

Er? .. the UltraX has laptop keys. It's the whole point why I like it so much.

So this UltraX is PS2 only? wonder if the PS2 to USB adapter from the mx1000 will work with it so can hook it upto the Mac.

hmm or is it USB... http://strony.aster.pl/barton/hardware/Log...aX_Keyboard.jpg

Was maybe thinking of getting this, but don't know yet. The flat look seems stunning.

It has a USB to PS2 converter that comes with it.

I tried it, not bad at all. But if you really want the best keyboard money can buy (OK it's maybe not an ultra-cool look), but it is absolutely the best keyboard available the famous IBM with UltraNav just as great as the famous IBM ThinkPad keyboards, with the same notebook layout and look and feel.

IBM UltraNav Keyboard

It doesn't. Keyboard layout is just like in regular keyboards.

this is laptop layout.

I was talking about the keys themselves, not the layout. Ah well, to each their own I guess. I do like a normal sized keyboard more for desktop work and gaming than a laptop layout.

Oh and to ^ IBM.. eww it really looks bad bad.

Hi,

I bought also this keyboard Logitech UltraX Media Desktop, but it has a different design than the one on thier homepage. It has up a a black line where are the media buttons and it's totaly flat, on their website I saw that is a little going up on the row where are the F key.

My question is for those who has this keyboard.

When playing Counter-Strike I have my own config and I can't do this:

Go forward (E key), crouch (A key) and while going forward crouching to switch the weapon (Q key).

It seems that all this key pressed all togheter will beep a sound from my computer speaker and won't take Q key action.

Try pressing E, A and then Q and keep them pressed for 1 or 2 seconds.

On my old MS keyboard I can do that.

Some keyboards can only take a certain amount of keys.

My old MS keyboard couldnt take 3 keys but my new keyboard can take up to 3 keys.

I guess your outta luck dude.

It can take 3 keys for sure, I use 3 keys in ET all the time. Probably even 4.

Do you have it connected on USB or PS2? I've got it on USB and it's working without probs for me.

First I had it on PS2 and now I've put it on USB same result.

Try in Total Comander or notepad ... to press E key ... keep it press then press A key ... also keep it press both keys E and A .. and then press Q key ... you'll see that Q is not typed anymore ... but if you click R key ... with both other keys press R is typed.

Tell me if you can type Q with both E and A keys pressed.

Thanks

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
