** Mobiledudes Logo Contest! **

Question

Prize: $100.00 USD for logo.

Payment Methods(s): Paypal, Check

-----------------------

Description:

We will soon be re-launching an new version of our site www.mobiledudes.com

We have decided that now is the time to get a logo that truly represents who we are.

As you may have already realized from the name of the site, our aim is to offer our customers with a range of mobile phones, accessories, and in the future a range of products that are mobile, i.e. iPods, Notebooks, PDA’s etc.. We would like our logo to portray a professional image, not something goofy or cartoon-ish. We are also laid back and can have fun.

While we would prefer if you could follow the criteria above, we aren’t going to limit ourselves until we see what you guys are capable of. I have seen some great work here at Yaxay and would like you to use your own experience and opinions when coming up with entries. I will be able to check in several times a day to offer my opinions and input on the entries.

For the logo format, we must have it in some sort of resizable format (most likely vector) that we can resize and use not only for the website, but on business cards, t-shirts, public banners, etc.

To clarify the logo:

We would like to see the logo with our slogan and without it/ we would also like to see it with the “.com” and without. This logo should be from scratch. For the title text, keep in mind that "mobiledudes" or "mobiledudes.com" should have no spaces between the words. Putting the words on separate lines should be fine if it fits the logo, but if the words are side by side, no spaces. Thanks :-)

Also, if you are going to use the initials of the name in the logo, please use "MD"

To clarify the prize:

We pay $100 for whichever logo wins, period.

To clarify logo originality:

This should be fairly obvious for any logo contest, the logo should be your original creative work. No clipart or purchased graphic should be used, and especially not claimed as your own work. If you have any questions as to whether or not you can use a pre-made graphic as the logo, the answer will almost undoubtedly be 'no' but feel free to contact me with any concerns.

As for stock photographs to be used with the logo, the answer is no as they do not comply with the previous rules requiring scalability of the logo.

Yes, please give it a go, anything you have in mind, i was thinking of an aqua effect like the Mac Apple would be a neat idea to give it, i like the concept, lets see some more, i think you really hit the ball of what we are after, something that when people see it they know its mobiledudes, something we can print easily and even draw on a peice of paper. id like to see the text in the ball without the dots and maybe something different, as i showed a few people, and they didn't automatically make sense of it, someone said it looked like PD, so i dont think it being mistaken for Puff Daddy Inc. is good :p

I do appoligise to anyone else that has done any work for the contest so far, because i have tried not to directly comment on anyones logo just yet, but i think PT_KiD is seeing where our company is trying to go, this is no indication that PT_KiD has won, but rather that he is on the right track...

I Look forward to seeing many more, as the month is still young.

Thanks Again Guys, Please Keep Up The Good Work. :)

Sounds good, I'm not going to submit any more logos though, my attempts were more directed as a symbol that was not very complex, that was easy to recognize and that was solid colors. Oh well...

I do have a small suggestion, i think the one of the dots in the letter M of PT_KiD's logos should be removed, like this...

Chema, Yours are great, im not quite sure why you would not submit anymore, like i said in my earlyer post, this contest is not over until the fat man drops off his gifts and we all get crunk in the club and we all party like its 1999...

I just stated that im really looking for a looking for a logo/symbol that is automatically recodnisible so that when people look at it they automatically know what it is, and so far i think that PT_KiD has done just that, in a unique way, it does not mean that i have chosen his by any means... id like it if you still were involved and kept submiting, and i hope many more artists will as well...

lol, thanks for all the good comments man :)

Well, i dunno if i should follow chema suggestion? Do you think it will be nice that way, if you tink i will because im not making the logo for me :p

I will give it a try to use the font without the dots and try a mac style of it.

For now, here are the plain logos for marketing purposes and stuff, no watermark because it would be easy to steal anyway... lol

Providing some honest advice if you are wanting a logo to "stand-out" go with on of Chema's designs, odd but works uniquely. If you know what I mean. Admittedely, PT_Kid's idea of the logo is nice and unique but just trying to work out what the dots are saying is just a little; tough.

At the end of the day, your choice though, just my thoughts on it. :)

Once people know what the name of the company is it wont be hard, i guess.

Like mail said: "The business doesn\'t became famous on the logo, the business makes the logo famous .."

And if the company does a good marketing work and good business ( aka turns out famous ), people will recognize the logo as mobiledudes right away.

Here goes a different color scheme with chemas suggestion:

    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
