Official Windows Live Messenger Invitations Thread

Recommended Posts

All this is Google's fault.

They started this tradition of invite system to build up hype.

True dat, but I find it very funny that people are willing to pay for these. I remember seeing gmail invites on eBay for $5 - $10. Sad.

Maybe someone should change the news article on the Neowin main page. It does say "Request a WLM Invite on the Neowin Forum" giving a link to this thread. Of course at the same time people should actually read the first post. For all they know, the link could have taken them to a signup thread for a lifetime supply of junk mail. Not that I haven't already signed up for that apparently.

Maybe something along the lines of "Share your WLM Invite on the Neowin Forum" instead?

And just to make sure that my post seems vaugely on-topic, I'll say that I've sent out a couple of PMs. I don't expect anything, but maybe there will be some random error in my favour :)

Anyone who requests an invite will be reported

Is this a valid reason for a report? I'm not critisising or anything, certainly something has to be done about those that don't read. However, I'm wondering if things like "stupidity" and "illiteracy" fall under the valid reasons category.

Well if people cant be arsed to read the rules of the thread before they post its a good enough reason to me mate.

[EDIT] 666 posts
