I was following this closely and I find it ironic that he had placed this message on almost all his work:

Don't Modify, Change or Use Any Resources Without My Permission. if Anyone Is Seen Using This Work Without My Permission Then The Officials Will Have Them Taken Down

After looking through his whole gallery, I find that most of his work is just Vista mods and a few msstyles modified to look like Vista. The rest is wallpapers of Bollywood stars, OS, girls and Avril Lavigne. His goal is to earn friends and achievements/applause/gracious comments.

What's the world coming to, I wonder?

The Internet is not for the mature educated people only, remember that 12 yr olds can easily make an account on any site.People with no sense of value or respect...some f'n rejects that you would never pay attention to,or even drop a reply in disgust if you knew them in real life.

It's a waste of time to care about low-lives such as these.

Also..chances are he got it of an nLite'd WinXP,he knows nothing of the Luna Element "embargo" and he wanted to share. There's always "God damned retard never cared of another's work" version too. :D Myself I'd feel ashamed to post the VS and claimed as my own.

As an "outsider", I am amazed that people like this guy can cause such concern in here. A whole page spent on him with strong comments about him. I am not defending him, but I wonder if it is worth such discussion by the members of the forum - over a visual style which is now gone and probably forgotten by most people in Deviant Art. With things like the economy, war, natural disasters, etc. , the importance of a "stolen" vs - or rip, whatever it is called, ranks very low in importance in the overall scheme of things. Blast me if you want, but I really don't place that kind of reverence on a visual style or theme. I use them only because they are fun and I like some of them. ->->->stepping off my soapbox! :D

Why are you comparing art with economy, war, natural disasters, etc? I agree that it's more important but it doesn't mean that people can rip-off each others hard work.

Go the the front page and read about why it's an issue to skin artist when their work is being ripped.

I am certainly much more impressed by an innocent being beheaded for islam.Or a girl getting stoned to death.

But this is art and work.Somebody spent time to create something...and seeing just anybody claiming it is his own creation it just..SUCKS.

You would like your work ripped just because someplace else there is a war ? Or anything except Iraq is not considered a problem and everyone should go there ?

It's not forgotten,it's one of the few almost perfect VS' I've seen.I don't use it atm since I am a VS junkie and change them almost every day. :D I'm an "outsider" too,but felt like saying something since this was really stealing someone's work.

The new SP3 for XP won't allow you to modify the theme .dll file though :(

So you can't use themes.

Someone has to figure out a new patch for the new theme file or has someone already?

I found this...

Does what it's supposed to... and really fast.

Yep, since he ripped stuff from LE. I've already reported it to the dA board.

To be fair though, it doesn't really look like Luna Element. I could be wrong though.

whats the point really? i know LE is great and all amongst the XP community, but reporting everyone who uses a similar button or ripped elements is a complete waste of time. i know you want to protect your work, if thats the case, don't you think its better for it to be a NFR?

^Why do we need to have this discussion everytime? Check the last page or go directly to the front page to see why it's reported.

@Scirwode: Check the titlebar, start panel, taskbar and the scrollbars.

one way or another this can't be prevented, but good luck with the outlawing

    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.
