Hi,

does anyone know what is wrong with the caption buttons?

I think it's because you've changed the fonts.

First of all, congrats for LE 5 - this is the best Element theme in my opinion.

There are some small problems left, at least one of them could be easily fixed... :D

1. The first one is from an app called Total Uninstall.

2. The secomd one is from Where Is It?. If I remember well those big buttons weren't present in LE 4.

3. The third one comes from all programs (file managers) with dual panel techonology. As I reported in LE 4 thread, you could change a little bit the colors to see better which is the active panel.

4. As you can see in first and third picture there is some blue space which shouldn't be there when you make a screen capture. This is the worst problem in my opinion. :(

All those are application issues exept for the first. Screenshots will get that space at the top because there was no way to control the text posision in the captionbar up and down. If I didn't add the extra space the text would be to far down.

@shaywood and people posting regarding the new startbutton: His work is based on mine. A mix of the old beta square startbutton and the final v5 startbutton.

This problem can also be found in Windows Media Player. When you switch to full mode with the Menu Bar. Looks really ugly and out of place!

Can someone tell me how to make the font of the taskbar buttons bold?

And how to make the font of the logoff and shutdown buttons bold too?

...and how to change the tooltip colours in the actual file, not by usng display properties?

I don't know what to change in the ui textfiles :s

These are the only things left I need to change.. :D

I made a slight mod to the previously posted black "menu" start button. I didnt really like the yellow highlights so I chnaged the color to white and the hilighting style somewhat. Here it is.

Its kind of hard to see the highlighting here but once its in use it looks great. Hope you like it.

Can you please mod one for the normal taskbar? I use normal because when I minimize WMP it expands the compact style. Plus the compact style and that full startmenu just don't mix.

    • Any so called performance increase will be in milliseconds, which nobody will actually notice in real world usage.
    • All it does is use the CPU more efficiently during boot to speed up boot times. That's it. Yawn....
    • It's not a one or the other kind of thing. Software should run efficiently, and the operating system should appropriately manage the CPU clocks. You could have the best most optimized software on earth, and it will still run faster if the CPU does a better job of boosting as needed. All this is doing is pre-boosting the CPU based on user actions, instead of waiting for the normal detection mechanism to kick in. If the OS knows it is about to need more CPU, why shouldn't it use that knowledge? It's the same idea of downshifting before passing someone, instead of just burying your foot into the peddle and waiting for the transmission to figure out what you want to do.

    • There really isn't anything magical about the low latency profile, other OS's do this as well. All they're doing is using your CPUs boost clock options in a more smarter way.
