Good article (Y)

That article explains why Seattle will win and why Pittsburgh won't stop Seattle's offense.

I was thinking the opposite, the Seahawks won't be able to control the Steeler's blitz. And I think it should be fairly easy for the Steelers to contain Alexander. Then I just think the Steelers have a better all around offense. I think they can match Alexander with Bettis, and then the Steelers have stronger wide recievers in my opinion.

You think they can match Alexander with Bettis? Are you comparing the NFL MVP with a RB that sits in the bench 60% of the time and only comes out for third and short?

I meant Parker before, not Bettis, but that's besides the point. The point I was trying to make is that the Steelers should be able to shut down Alexander, and not make him a major factor in the game, therefore evening the matchup between the Steeler's running game and the Seahawks. I just think with Parker and Bettis running the ball, they should be able to do fairly well.

i think they can also. this is the superbowl. and possibly the last pro game bettis will ever play. the regular season means absolutely nothing in this game. Whoever wants to win more will win. offensive and defensive stats through the season really have no effect on the outcome of the superbowl, or any playoff game for that matter.

Started reading part of it and then just stopped...I can't stand it when they throw statistics into things.

I think you're on the wrong board.

The kind of advanced statistics they use has been very successful in predicting a lot of things.

if he ever intercepted a pass or recovered a fumble, I'd take him down by his hair.

And you're even allowed to do that. Surprised no one has tried it so far.

I wonder how badly Polamalu's injury will affect his performance tomorrow. It would be a shame if such a vital player (on either team) couldn't go at 100%.

It won't. He was fine in practice the day after. It's even possible that the Steelers blew it out of proportion on purpose. It didn't even classify as a minor injury, because he was flying around the field a day later.

Have you watched the Seahawks at all this season? I tend to doubt it, because if you did, you'd know:

1)The Seahawks have a better quarterback

2)The Seahawks have a better running game.

3)The Seahawks have a better offensive line.

4)The WRs between the teams are comparable, with a slight edge toward Seattle's.

But the Steelers offense does not compete against the Seahawks offense. They compete against the Seahawks defense.

Offense against Offense: Seattle wins

Defense against Defense: Pittsburgh wins

But that's kind of irrelevant, as those aren't the matchups we're looking at.

I'm concerned about the fact that Seattle hasn't really faced a good 3-4 defense all year. We'll see how they handle Pittsburgh and Dick LeBeau.

How a team performs all season provides a good indication how they will perform in the playoffs. Sometimes teams wildly exceed that. Usually not.

If a team is outplayed and outcoached, it doesn't matter how much they "want" to win it. News flash: Every team really wants to win in the playoffs. It's hardly the deciding factor.

Seahawks will win. Read this: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5300680

That article is probably the most comprehensive breakdown of the game and the teams.

Yep, and here's another good one:

All season Steelers were underrated, they had a good record but they were better than there record. The lost games due to Tommy's lacking quarterback skills, Ben's messed up knee and thumb. If you watched the first colts game it was closer than what the score showed, you take away a few key plays for the colts and steelers are very close if not winning. That was bens first game back from surgery too. Thats how it goes and thats how statistics show things. Could you have expected the steelers to get where they are now? probibly not (could you really expect any team specifically). Am I surprised the steelers walked over 3 of the best teams in the NFL? not really my opinion they were capable of beating anyone and everyone all season.

Who did seattle play all season? I know they definitally didn't have a schedule compared to the steelers or any other AFC team for that matter. There playoff run was a cake walk compared to what the steelers had to endure.

I think the steelers will win, if its close its because the steelers will start running the ball and the clock when they get a lead.

From KFFL.com:

Steelers OLB Joey Porter vs. Seahawks OLT Walter Jones

No one will debate the fact that the Steelers had a good defense all season, but it became great, even special, when right outside linebacker Joey Porter's knee healed late in the season and he started harassing opposing quarterbacks. Porter has three sacks in three postseason games and was a big part of the Steelers holding the powerful Indianapolis Colts offense to three points through three quarters. It's been a long time, however, since Porter met an offensive tackle as protective of his quarterback as the Seahawks' Walter Jones. Porter's pass rush must be kicked up a notch, or Hasselbeck will get the requisite time to find his strong stable of receivers. There also is the matter of disrupting RB Shaun Alexander (141 yards, two touchdowns in the playoffs), who can dominate a game, thanks to the best offensive line in the business. If Porter can't find a way to squeeze into the Seahawks' backfield on run and pass plays, the favored Steelers will have a tougher time with the Seahawks than many of their fans think they will.

All season Steelers were underrated, they had a good record but they were better than there record.

The Steelers underrated? How about the Seahawks being underrated for years and years including this one? No one ever talked about Seattle and look at the odds for today's game...they still get no respect.

It was a piece of cake walk through the playoffs? Lets talk some statistics since statistics is what matters, not personal opinion. Seattle played Washington in the Divisional playoff...a Washington team ranked second in the NFL in defense. One week later, they play Carolina...a Carolina team ranked fourth in the NFL in defense. What was the outcome of those games? We all know what the outcome was for Seattle's offense, even without Alexander

Now, who did the Steelers play? The Steelers played a Cincinnati team ranked 28th in defense, an Indy team ranked 12th, and a Denver team ranked 15th. Before you tell me how good these offenses were...defense wins championships and none of these three teams had defense. On the other hand, Seattle played two teams in the top 5 in defense and still devoured them in every aspect.

Time for the Seahawks to beat another good defense

Let's look at the playoff picture though. The Steelers barely made it into the playoffs due to a 3 game losing streak. Seahawks had the best record in the NFC leading into the playoffs. They didn't have to face the caliber of teams the Steelers did. We came in 6th seed, and got to the superbowl. That alone is a feat. I honestly don't think the Seahawks could've beaten Cincinatti, the Colts, or the Broncos. Now they have the Steelers, and we are just too physical for them to handle. They are small and fast. We are large, tough, and have a few really fast defensive guys. You can all argue your points like I've argued now, but lets just watch the game and shut up. I'll be here when it is over to see the excuses you Seattle Fans will have for your lame team. Good day to you all!

    • Chrome has history of being the browser everyone uses because Internet Explorer sucks, not realizing that Edge changed that, but people got into the habit of using Chrome. I use Brave and I've never been happier with a browser. It does what it is meant to do and gets out of the way.

    • Microsoft launches Godot Sample to streamline Xbox PC game development on the engine by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft today announced a new endeavor that aims to make it simpler for Godot developers to get their products into the Xbox PC ecosystem. Dubbed the "XBOX Godot Sample," this is a new public reference for developers using the open-source engine. This is set to serve as an example of how Microsoft GDK, Xbox Services, and PlayFab can be integrated into their projects. The sample is available now on GitHub as a working example. This covers key features in gaming projects that developers may need to release their projects on Xbox PC, with everything from matchmaking and game sign-in to gamepad compatibility with Godot being covered. This release is being called the first step in giving Godot developers the tools to bring their games over to Xbox PC, with more changes to come based on feedback and issue reports. However, the company was clear that this is not related to bringing Godot projects to Xbox consoles. The engine's open development model stops it from accessing console SDKs due to the requirement of NDAs and legal contracts. Here's how it explained this Godot sample project's focus: This is a source-only sample, not a product. It's MIT-licensed at the wrapper layer; the GDK and PlayFab dependencies still require their own installs and license acceptance, consistent with our other XBOX samples. There is no set update cadence for support or maintenance. We’ll watch the repo, monitor issues, and iterate where it makes sense, but this isn't a commercial release. That said, we’re excited to hear your feedback and see any community PRs, as we evolve this together. This is the first step in bringing Godot for XBOX on PC. We plan to evolve it over time based on what the community tells us is most valuable. This sample is built specifically for XBOX on PC. It doesn’t include support for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One. If you’re already building for XBOX Series X|S or XBOX One, please talk with your XBOX representative. If not, you can get started by signing up here. Game developers can find the XBOX Godot Sample by heading to GitHub over here. Documentation on how to get started with Godot for building an Xbox PC project can be seen here.
    • I don't understand the vision. Do people really want to buy a new computer from Dell with 6 browsers installed? We all keep asking for Microsoft to stop having so much junk on their OS, and adding a bunch of browsers seems to go against that. Ideally, we would just be asked what browser we want during OOBE but Google is just going to pay Dell a bunch of money to include Chrome. Additionally, would you want your phones to start including all the browsers too when you get them? The only thing I ever wanted was to be able to uninstall IE or edge and I believe you are now able to. I do agree that microsoft needs to chill with their "are you sure you don't want to try edge before you install chrome" ads when going to download chrome.
