I guess I have to do this:

RANT JUTSU!!!

This is absolutly atrotious! They try to make it more Vista Like, but they have supremely messed it up! The only thing good about it is that it's got the new Windows logo now...but it's at least usable. When I got it, I got it in orange. Also, I actually like orange at least!

it's better then all that grey garbage, how would it looks with grey in it on vista, i mean grey wtf are they thinking going back to windows 98 or somthing  this is much better ten the last build and still second gen beta testing build of live messenger. the colours have been reformed and made more in-line with the UI of other Windows Live services, i dont see why you are all complaining yeah maybe it hurts your eyes well look at the colour compeard to 7.5 i don't see a huge colour change there basicly the same its alot better on the eyes then garbage green icons and mislead grey colour

i still follow my rule and that is any new version of msn messenger is ****, ive never liked any new features. the best msn version was 6.2 everything past then has been full of crap that is waste of effort and this new messenger doesnt look good so far in my books

New UI design

New contact list design (no more hover behavior)

A return of the old status icons

A Sharing Folders status and progress bar

The Sharing Folders activity log is now in a separate window

New Voice platform

Improved reliability

Improved stability

Improved performance

Improved login performance

Woooooo, Nice Look :D

Where do you change the settings for the display pics on the contact list. I can't find it in the options anymore. And they are all but gone on my contact list. It doesn't show them anymore, only the msn icons.

Click on the icon that's after the "Add A Contact" and before the "Find a contact or number" input field on the main program window, then select "Show Details"

Wheres the download link?

I'm a beta tester and I only get the old version on http://ideas.live.com/

Any ideas? Pardon the Pun! lol

Agian the refresh is only open to the orginal testers of WLM, it is not aviable on live (at this stage), only through connect.microsoft.com.

And i still much prefer the older way as to how they did detailed contact view, with the buttons and such. I hate the fact it is just text now. I miss the icons :(

i really hope that this is just a ###### up, the icons in the last build where really nice and now there no where to be seen, plus im stuck with hidious blue configuration that I cant change! what on earth they playing at! think ill remove it and put the previous build back on!

    • We do it all the time on our IT Service desk mailbox to add a reference, in the subject line, once it's been logged and then it's filed into the appropriate sub-folder. Other companies probably do the same thing.
    • "No. The "New Outlook for Windows" does not support non-cloud mailboxes (such as on-premises Exchange servers). Furthermore, because the New Outlook effectively functions as a web-based client, it requires all connected accounts—even standard IMAP or POP accounts—to route and cache data through Microsoft's cloud servers. You can verify the accepted account setups using the Microsoft Supported Account Types Guide." Built to fail "New" Outlook is basically just webmail in a window wrapper and it's usefulness reflects that.
