my 2 cents.

The GUI is better than the last one, and it is starting to grow on me. it looks the best in light colors (just like the previous build looked best in dark ones), though it was quite a shock to have it come up in dark blue. There are inevitably going to be problems, I am sure that they know about the fellings for the GUI by now - over 45 votes/24 validations on connect about it.

Does anyone realize that sometimes at the end of each message carries over a letter from a previous message?

It's confusing, but if it happens to you you'll know what I'm talking about.

It looks VERY retarded.

Yes, it happened to me with the :-P emoticon... Very odd problem!

Who said I'm not a beta tester ?

Proof below:

That doesn't mean you're a beta tester. If you were invited by someone, you're not a beta tester. Only the actual beta testers have been given a link to this build thus far, and that's the way it's SUPPOSED to stay.

That is really nice work Luppy!

However, I feel that I have to comment on the interface itself of the chat window (which has nothing to do with your theme). Why is Windows Messenger in general, and in particular Live so little customizable? I have to rely on 3rd party tools like A-patch to make it more cool. Microsoft really suck when it comes to customizations and options.

From what I've seen, the recent build for WLM has a lot of faults such as no contact hovering (I like this feature), an inconsistent and noisy UI and somewhat limitied contact displays. But as it is still in Beta, I hope this is just a Build where they are testing out a few features. For now, I'll reserve my opinions.

Because obviously no one's leaked a copy to the A-patch creator, yet.

Of course he has it.

It's because patching wlm gets rid of sharing folders, because it does a hash against the files to see if they have been modified or not.

So it will be a while for wlm patches, as you will need to bypass that security, or you will do a msgplus style hack (editing wlm in memory) which is quite limited.

Ok I haven't got an email about the new refresh and I wasn't invited to the beta by another user, however I received an invite during the second wave given out by microsoft. Is this why I don't have access to the link on my connect page?

    • Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.
    • Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.

Later today, Geoff Keighley will be bringing the 2026 edition of Summer Game Fest live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the Summer Game Fest showcase livestream will be kicking off at 2 PM PT | 5 PM ET | 10 PM BST later today, June 5. The jam-packed show is slated to run for about two hours, with platforms like YouTube (4K at 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, or X being available for catching it. Keighley has only dropped a few teasers about what gaming fans can expect to see at the show. This includes a new look at Star Wars Zero Company from EA, a major announcement from Guild Wars developer ArenaNet, more Clutch gameplay, and some sort of Sega presence. As for fan expectations, there is hype building about a Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 reveal here, and we might see new details about announced games like Alien Isolation 2 as well. If you want even more games, keep in mind that right after the main kickoff event, the Day of the Devs showcase will begin its own festivities at 4 pm PT | 7 pm ET. This is focused entirely on upcoming indie games. Following this, the next major games showcase is slated to happen on June 7. Here, Microsoft is bringing the big guns with its Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War E-Day Direct. Check out the full calendar for all of the June events over here.
