Latest Japanese Hardware Sales

Recommended Posts

Nothing really changed, The order is still the same, numbers go a bit down or a bit up etc. Until a new big name game for the 360 hits japan, it'll stay in it's 2.5k-3.5k range. I still think that's better than the original Xbox though. BTW, when does the Elite hit in Japan? I somehow thing that'll help boost sales because of the bigger HDD and more so fo HDMI, I know that Japanese people probably have more HDTVs than anyone else on the planet at this point, so HDMI should help things.

Here's to hoping though.

Crazy week in software:

July 23 - 29

01. [WII] Mario Party 8 - 265,000 / NEW

02. [PS3] Hot Shots Golf 5 - 152,000 / NEW

03. [NDS] Taiko Drum Master DS - 94,000 / NEW

04. [NDS] It's a Wonderful World - 77,000 / NEW

05. [WII] Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 - 46,000 / NEW

06. [PSP] Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories - 45,000 / NEW

07. [360] The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - 40,000 / NEW

08. [NDS] The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - 37,000

09. [PS2] Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 14 - 34,000

10. [WII] Wii Sports - 32,000

I'm going to take a guess here, but did the PS3 have a new game out that helped pick up its sales? I don't keep track of japanese release dates, but I have to wonder if this is the case.

The rest of still sitting in their respective places, and selling around the same #s more or less for each week.

yup. minna no golf 5 (hot shots golf to us) came out 2 weeks ago and they're also selling a bundle that includes that game.

I just stumble onto this site.

http://vgchartz.com/weekly.php

05th August 2007

Worldwide Totals:

Console Weekly Total

DS 390,412 46,827,948

Wii 224,511 10,100,355

PSP 130,474 22,368,662

PS3 96,156 4,108,746

360 56,753 10,324,072

If the above is true, Wii will overtake the 360 in total sales within the next couple of weeks.

I had no idea :|

^ vgchartz isn't really a reliable source for hardware numbers. they seem to pull their numbers out of nowhere. i don't doubt that the wii is about to pass the 360 in sales (if it hasn't already done so), but i wouldn't take that site's numbers as official.

    • I bought this game. Played it for an hour, and then got a refund from Steam. Not a fun game at all.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets another hotfix for one of the game's online modes by Taras Buria Recently, Forza Horizon 6 players discovered an interesting glitch that allowed farming a crazy amount of in-game credits in a few minutes. Playground Games quickly pulled the plug on the exploit by disabling one of the game's online modes, and today, the studio is rolling out another hotfix. In my review, I complained about the game still showering gamers with cars, credits, and wheelspins. As such, earning money in Forza Horizon 6 is not a particularly difficult task. You simply have to play the game, crazy, I know. However, people still found an easier path to becoming a billionaire in Forza Horizon 6. All you had to do was purchase the Hummer EV, install a specific tune, shift in reverse while going at about 15 MPH, hit a wall, and get launched into the stratosphere at the speed of light. While mid-air, launch Eliminator and quickly get eliminated. Boom, the game just awarded you with a few million in-game credits. Initially, Playground Games disabled Eliminator to prevent people from farming credits. Now, following the release of the first balancing update, developers are rolling out a new update that re-enables Eliminator and gives users a free McLaren Sabre as a gesture of goodwill. Here is the changelog: One critical issue remains unpatched, though. There are quite a few reports of the game wiping gamers' saves, and developers are still looking into that. To avoid potential data loss, Playground Games recommends taking one of the steps outlined in a previously published support article.
