I have ripped them from vista and am using them on my XP system as we speak. However, no I will not be redistributing them.

Oh, and yes, flip 3d finally is antialiased :D

Much prettier :D

this build is awesome... first one to really give me a great feeling. glass is alot nicer in this build - alot more see-through, but aero basic is still ugly as can be. there is a ton of polish all over the place. the logon screen has a vista logo on it now too!

This build is awesome; it has improved a great deal in speed, in fact it is faster than XP for me at this point, it doesn't feel sluggish anymore, I have noticed new animations, new icons everywhere and many of the legacy ones are starting to go away (Finally!).

The UAC behavior has also changed a lot and it is much less intrusive, the Flip3D feature looks and feels smoother, I have noticed slightly new layout in the explorer shell as well as new features on it, for example you can now also pick "Folders View" in the left side of Windows explorer, over all this is a big leap from Beta2 gays, but what impresses me the most is speed and stability!

I'm loving this build.

Well this is good news.. i'm personally past caring what happens with Microsoft and Vista BUT I do hope that they manage to pull it together for the sake of the consumer, and for the sake of themselves as a company.. they really need this OS to be a success as they do seem to be on the back foot these days..

I'll keep watching with interest how it all goes..

For some of the people who are in the public beta of Vista, spoiled people you can't have every build after beta 2, your good enough with beta 2, and if you had every build now then you would probably not want the final build of Vista.

Yeah.. cause you should feel PRIVILEGED to be using Vista!

Yea I think its still lame, Microsoft needs to hire some real designers, or hire a better person to overlook them, cuz whoevers fault it is, everything is lookin like crap. This OS has def took a turn for the worse.

I'll agree with you on several points there but I love these pointers. It's a huge improvement!

The new build is showing some promises. I can really see some subtle improvements, specifically in Windows Media Player 11, the whole Desktop and the Windows Explorer. Well done, Microsoft :D ! I'm eager to see what Microsoft has in store for us next  .

PSG22?

nah they aint that beautiful, the mouse itself still plain and white, i think they should give the mouse a more 3D look since thats meant to be the whole point.

The reason it is white is because its easier to see and a colored pointer wouldn't be the choice of many! 3D? Its a pointer, not your wallpaper or something to have 3D effects and make it crap.

Its not lame in any way btw. Its MUCH better than the previous plain white pointer and apprecaite that point.

That is the same coloured circle that is in IE7 and a few other pieces of Microsoft software. Wish I could be specific as to which ones, but I can't recall ATM, I just know I saw them somewhere else.

Anyway, I could see them replacing the hour glass with that in all of their software.

    • DXVK generally performs better on Linux (using Wine/Proton) than on Windows. Because Linux utilizes highly optimized, open-source Vulkan drivers (like RADV/ACO) that were specifically built for AMD Radeon hardware, the translation of Direct3D 9/11 to Vulkan is highly efficient. But if you take the trouble to watch my video, you can see that there are also advantages for Nvidia users. You see that I run Assassin's Creed Odyssey on 4GB RAM and on an i3-3240. What do you think are the minimum system requirements for windows11? For CPU-based rendering, Linux is generally faster than windows11 by about 15% due to lighter background overhead and efficient kernel scheduling.
