Sorry, I doubt anyone here can help you out. Have you tried through Norton?

Yes, but I doubt this build can be activated with a key of the public Beta 2.

If you haven't activated your beta 2 key 10 times, it should activate just fine.

44% complete, I will then mount the installation on my Vista partition and should be up and running!

Does this quote refer to this build? ("You'll see a huge difference [in performance]," Sievert said of the interim release, noting Microsoft is recommending 512 Megabytes of memory when testing the new code.)

Slimy,

Can you post a few of the Basic UI with the Start Menu showing and then some with multiple screens showing.

^ I only see a windows classic option, no basic. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place (looking at themes)?

are the performance improvements noticeable?

You can right click on the Desktop, click Personalization,Color Schemes, open Classic Appearence. You should see Vista Basic there. I keep forgetting about Search on the Start Menu. You could type in Classic Appearence. It may show up.

Thank you

It is more responsive in general although doing certain things can make it happily lag to hell.

Searching in the start menu didn't work.

Can I tell you people, this is the most awesome experience I have ever had testing Vista, it doesn't go slow doing this post like it used to before even when I didn't do anything, right now for the first time ever in Vista has it had barely any CPU usage! :)

You can request keys off connect for Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.

Nope. Home Basic/Premium, Ultimate SKUs are included in the iso... they want us to test all bits. Some bugs appear in one SKU but not others.
