Lost - Season Three

It seems there's some confusion as to the two islands.

As I understand it, the "main" island houses both crash sites AND the little town where the Others live(d). When the plane crashed, Goodwin and Ethan did not have to go from one island to the other in order to get to the crash sites.

The second island contains the facility where Jack, Kate and Sawyer are being held. Think about it. Why else would the Others have brought them to the dock at the end of last season? To transport them to this new island.

Makes sense, as having a second island for their "experiments" or whatever they do will prevent anyone from attempting a rescue.

Also makes sense why Ben wanted that sailboat that Sayid was using. He was afraid that at some point it could be used for a rescue attempt, if anyone figured out that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are on the 2nd island.

Plus it makes it pretty much impossible for Jack, Kate, and Sawyer to escape, as we know (they don't) that there is sharks somewhere near the island and that is a long swim even if they were good swimmers.

This actually brings the whole "dharma-stamped sharks" into perspective now. Perhaps Dharma planted sharks around the islands to impede any attempts to swim from one island to the other...

Spoiler from Entertainment Weekly...

28) that would be great. For now, take the following carefully. On a remote Hawaiian beachscape where turquoise waves slither up tan sands, Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly and several others (including Others) are filming a whopper of a scene for a February episode of LOST. Spotting this reporter through the trees, Elizabeth Mithcell scoots over... "Well," she says, cheerfully excusing herself, "I'm going to go shoot someone." Cameras rolling, she expertly wields a Sig Sauer and pumps two bullets into someone shocking; the still-standing are left gasping as she coldly lowers the gun.

The most shocking person she could kill is Ben, at least in my opinion.

IMO this show needs to be longer at least an hour each episode I hate these rip off shows that are 40 minutes but pretend there an hour with all the ads.

Um, ALL shows are 1/3 commercials. 30 minute shows are only 21 minutes. 60 minute shows are only 42 minutes. Every show is this way...

(sans 'commercial free' and 'limited interruption' broadcasts)

LOST tends to have more commercial breaks, but shorter breaks. That is why it seems like there is a lot of commercials, when there really is no more then usual.

However the best way to watch LOST is on DVD, where you can easily watch several episodes in a row with no commercials. I predict that the LOST box set will be one of the best selling of all time when the show is finally done.

Knowing that this had happened before, Ben wanted the boat at all costs

No, I don't buy that, he was completely shocked that there was a boat on the island.

Also Ben mentioned a sub in the last episode so they can get across in quick time...but the fact that Ben told Goodwin and Ethan to go to the beaches is interesting because he said Goodwin could make it in an hour...whats he...superman? :p

Well... yes? :p

Actually thinking about it...didn't take alot of shots to keep Ethan Down and when Jack punched him he was like a superhuman? :shiftyninja:

It's not even a lost experience site, it's fan made. You can tell by how lamely it's designed and the images stolen from wikipedia

some fan you are...

I've been on lost fourms and theres more discustion to that then what you say....

and just cuz the site looks craapy doesnt mean its fan made,

and who gives a **** if it was stolen, a lot of thigs ate stlen.,...

Yes i know all most stations have ads, but what annoys me is how I barely get to see 10 minutes before commercials start!! Yea ok far enough if the program is 40 minutes, but shove ads in every ten minutes it just spoils any program your watching, which is the main reason i record lost so I can see it straight.

IMO it should be illegal to put more than one set of commercials every hour.

weell maybe thats for another topic...

but i like season 3 so far :)

I hate it when commerciels are 5 min long, and one or two air twice in 1 period.

like Sears, macys or a crapy one. then they air it agsain..

itsa freaken anoying

I hope when Lost comes back it speeds up because so far I am losing interesting.

I was a big fan of Season 1 but threw Season 2... it's got slower and slower and now I feel like I have to watch it just to get my moneys worth because I've put so much time into watching it thus far.

Sort of reminds me of ALIAS. Started off great got really slow for about 4 seasons then it ends really quickly and leaves a really annoying aftertaste because of all the time spent watching it waiting for the payoff.

Anyway enough rambling I really really hope it picks up when Season 3 returns.

Yes, some fan I am...actually if you were a real fan you'd have read about this site looong ago and realised it was discredited as being a fan-made site. Please show me these forums explaining how it's real, because I think this is quite conclusive: http://www.buddytv.com/forum/archive/index.php?t-2315.html

The interesting part is:

if you go to widmoregroup.com and click on news it gives you a list of 4 news items. ON the bottom news release the words "Widmore Laboratories" are a link. If you click on them then it takes you to widmorelaboratories.com. If you scroll down and click on slow air demo it takes you to squidoo.com and the maker of the site admits that it is a fake.

Sure enough if you follow the hidden link in the news item it take you to here: http://widmorelaboratories.com/

^Probably the most unconvincing site I've seen yet.

If you scroll down you see the text:

ARG players please note: This is a fan site,

and as most fan sites the information should

be taken as theories and speculation.

Ouch, sorry about that. Do your homework next time

I think that widmore one looks pretty poor...the labratories one...I remmeber during the Lost Experience loads of fake sites popped up just attract the traffic for example there was a ST Sebastian Hospital site that doenst exist now...well its there just blank that had everything from flash easter eggs to files to view but it was found to be fake...I really hope they improve the Lost Experience for next year because of course there is going to be one!!!

Not really - he told colleen to disable it, but then he said "And colleen, I want that boat"

As in - for his self.... not just to take it away from them but to use it for his own needs.

Why didn't they show us Sayid and Jin and Sun?

And uh guys.

Ben = On island all his life.

Juliet = she can't possibly be a fertility doctor on the island!! she must have lived outside.

(She looked hot in white!)

    • This is about the EU given consumers options, Apple is all about not giving options and locking you into its own services, this hurts Apple far more than it hurts the EU market because it makes Apple products look less appealing by Apple refusing to offer its own service because they have to give options to rivals, the end results are consumers might look at alternatives like Android. It's a game Apple can't really win when there are alternatives and Apple will in time change course on this, until then, let Apple hurt themselves in the EU market.
    • Microsoft unveils new Surface Laptop with improved trackpad, Snapdragon X2, and more by Taras Buria Microsoft's new Surface Laptop Ultra generated a lot of buzz earlier this month, but in addition to its most powerful laptop with an NVIDIA chip, Microsoft also has a more affordable laptop lineup, which has been waiting for an update for quite a while. Today, Microsoft announced the eighth-generation Surface Laptop. The new Surface Laptop is powered by the Snapdragon X2 Plus and X2 Elite processors. These chips offer faster CPU performance, up to 58% faster graphics, and 80 TOPS Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for on-device AI processing. Like the previous models, these chips retain their great energy efficiency, and Microsoft says that buyers can expect up to 20 hours of work on a single charge. The laptop is available in two sizes: 13.8-inch and 15-inch. You will have a hard time finding visual differences between the new and previous models, as Microsoft is not taking any major design leaps, except for the new Jade color, which may look familiar to Surface Laptop 5 owners. Other colors include Platinum, Black, and Dune. The 15-inch variant got a higher-resolution display. It is a 3,270 x 2,180 resolution screen with a pixel density of 262 ppi (the 13-inch model has a 201 ppi density) and a maximum brightness of 600 nits SDR and HDR. Unlike the Surface Pro 12th-gen, which is available with optional OLED displays, the Surface Laptop sticks with IPS, a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Another notable change in the Surface Laptop 8 is its trackpad. It now provides haptic feedback when you perform various actions in apps and the operating system. It is a relatively new feature that Microsoft brought to Windows 11 in recent updates, and it is only available on certain devices, such as the Logitech MX Master 4, Surface Slim Pen 2, the upcoming Surface Laptop Ultra, and now the Surface Laptop 8. The new Surface Laptop with the new Surface Pro Like its tablet-shaped sibling, the new Surface Laptop is notably more expensive. It starts at a $1,599 for a 13.8-inch configuration with a 256GB SSD and 16GB of RAM. However, in the US, the base model has double the storage while keeping the same price. Available configurations include up to 64GB of memory and up to 2TB SSD (user-removable PCIe Gen4). The Surface Laptop 8 is now available for purchase on the official Microsoft website.
    • Microsoft announces 12th-gen Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2 processors by Taras Buria So far, 2026 has been rich in Surface announcements. Microsoft started with a fresh lineup of Surface for Business devices powered by Intel's new Core Ultra 300 processors. Then the company revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, its most powerful laptop with NVIDIA's RTX Spark processor. Now, it is time for new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models with Qualcomm processors. Microsoft's original Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon X1 chips debuted in late May 2024. Two years later, Microsoft is finally updating the lineup with new models featuring Snapdragon X2 processors. The 12th-gen Surface Pro continues the well-established formula of Microsoft's flagship tablet, and Microsoft is not even changing colors, as the tablet will be available in three colors: Dune, Black, and Platinum. The most important changes are mostly hidden inside. Microsoft switched from the Snapdragon X1 to the new Snapdragon X2, which promises up to 53% faster graphics performance than the previous generation and up to 15.5 hours of battery life. The built-in NPU is also much more powerful, and it can run at up to 80 TOPS for on-device AI processing. Like before, the new Surface Pro is available with a 13-inch IPS display, and Microsoft is still offering OLED as a separate, more expensive configuration. Speaking of configurations, the Surface Pro will be available with a 10-core Snapdragon X2 Plus or a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite. Microsoft expanded the available RAM configurations to 64GB (previously 32GB was the maximum), while storage remains unchanged at 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of user-replaceable PCIe Gen4 SSDs. The new Surface Pro and the Surface Laptop Other specs remain mostly unchanged. The computer has the same 1440p Windows Hello webcam, two USB4 ports for charging, data, and display output, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, dual speakers, and compatibility with Surface Pro Signature and Flex keyboards. With that said, there is one very important aspect of the Surface Pro that changed significantly, and it is the price. While the previous-gen Surface Pro launched at $999 for the base configuration, in 2026, the entry-level Surface Pro with Snapdragon X2, 16GB of memory, and 256GB will set you back an eye-watering $1,499. To sweeten the pill, Microsoft is running a limited-time promotion where Surface Pro buyers can get a free Surface Pro 13-inch Keyboard. The promo runs from June 16 through June 30. The new Surface Pro is available now on the official Microsoft Store website.
