Lost - Season Three

I thought it seemed that Shannon was teasing Boone and wasn't actually implying that he was gay?

From from the lastest podcast they said a gay character will appear in Expose. This episode was alright, liked it how season 1 moments were linked to it i.e Eko's brothers plane, so john wasn't the first to see it.

Discovering the Pearl station first, re-watching that now Ben said "Have them cover it up with the plane", i think at the time the plane fell and the Pearl was visable so afterwards Ben and Juliet pushed the plane over covering the pearl, then John and Eko found it and pushed the plane back to get into the pearl station.

Anyone notice the time period when Ben and Juliet were watching Jack on screen, after Micheal shot Libby and Anna Lucia, because you can see Libby lying on the floor, but looking at Ben's face he doesn't have any cuts or bruises at all and when Micheal freed him he had cuts etc. Reckon there has to be a tunnel.

Smokey noises at the end, think that has anything to do with anything?

Left Behind - US Trailer

Daft as it sounds does anyone else think that this may be delayed in Britain after what happened (spoilerish if you haven't seen the ep)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/6498019.stm?ls

I havent got Sky at the moment but i've heard they are only a couple of days behind the US air date.

Pretty grim ending tho

What does a dead woman have to do with whether or not LOST airs in Britain?

People die/are murdered/commit suicide/whatever every day.

BUT OMG... WHAT AN EPISODE!

Anyone catch the meta reference in the beginning?

"I'm just a guest star, everyone knows what happens to guest stars?"

I knew she'd die right then.

The fact that she was buried in sand, like two of the characters on Lost. I don't think it'll stop it from airing though.

On a brighter note:

Ha, good catch! I didn't think of it when she said it.

Nikki could quite possibly come back if you think about it.

Dialog between the Director and Nikki

Director: It's a shame to see you go. Are you sure you don't wanna stay?

Nikki: Thanks, but we all know what happens to guest characters.

Director: Well, we could always bring you back next season.

Nikki: How? I was shot.

Director: Maybe you were wearing a bullet proof vest.

Nikki opens robe to reveal bikini.

Director (laughing): Okay, bullet proof breasts.

And remember when Locke said that things buried on the beach tend not to stay buried. So one of them could well come back. Although I found it quite funny how it shows Nikki opening her eyes with Sawyer pouring sand all over her face to then showing the huge mounds of sand ontop of them. And she didn't even get a chance to shout ''Oi I'm alive here'' You just wouldn't think she's alive after that, but this is Lost.

Also did anyone hear the monster noises at the moment the spiders were having lunch on Paulo and Nikki? Could the spiders possibly be the monster?

I heard the monster as stated above, but the spiders arn't the monster. When Nikki started talking to Artz he said that when the sent of the women spiders attract the mens, which what happened when Paulo crushed the spider on his hand the male spiders came. It was weird that the monster was heard.

Maybe it was watching them....trying to suss them out to see if they are good or bad...

My only issue with this is what purpose would giving Locke an imitation of his dad be? How would giving him what will eventually dissipate help Ben convince him to stick around and tap into the island's special powers? If it was going to show his dad, why show his dad tied up and apparently beaten? Wouldn't having him standing there be sufficient?

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just that it doesn't seem as likely as the Others having another method of getting off and on the island.

Plus, Ben told that guy to get the man from Tallahassee, which apparently is Locke's dad. Surely Ben wasn't saying, "Get the smoke monster and make it look like Locke's dad." To me it makes more sense that it really is Locke's dad. But hey, I've been wrong before :)

Yea it makes sense. You're probably right.

damn...

All I can say about last night ep.

The 1st season was interesing and seems they have something to show.

The 2nd season was ok, some stuff that make you want to watch this series.

And now, in the 3rd season. Damn, this is not only annoying, its also, insulting.

What was that?. "Another 85 days" in the island?. With this two we dont know (and seem they were well intergrated to the group. Bah, thats at least that the retard who wrote this try to make us to believe) and hate. So, they (the scripters) dont have another thing that kill them.

Seems like that spiders only bite the ppl who is not on the main cast.

They discover that hatch. Yes, that hatch and the plane that we takes about 6 months!!! of our lives to reach.

In just one sentence they "destroy" who was "the new cowboy in this town". Yes, Swayer and his friend Charlie and their plan to take the weapons kidnapping Sun. Yes, crazy like sounds but that was what we already watch.

In another hand, instead of an airport, the others have a Submarine!!. But they want the Desmond boat. I can see the logic. Yeah, they want that boat to cross from island to island. But they already did that with the Michael (jackson?) boat.

This is going down. And no wonder why they already lost 2 millions (1 or 2 millions? Million more of watcher, millions less, there is not difference aint?).

With that numbers another more popular shows were cancelled, without any doubts.

Oh, btw, Shannon looks DESTROYED. She is not like she used to be. Too much Meth on that body.

And one funny thing was too see Xerxes without that garbage (and gay style) on his face. At least this time we see him die :p

I had a comment on my lost blog which summed it up imo....

What a horrible episode. Nikki and Paulo are the worst thing to come to this series. Yeah, I?m happy they?re dead now, but not before doing their damage.

What the hell? they found the plane and the swan and the lake before everyone else? Kinda cheapens everyone else?s storyline, doesn?t it? Locke and Boone?s adventures, the discovery of a hatch on the island.

Paulo doesn?t say anything??? to anyone??? he knew about the plane, the monitoring station, others on the island, their plan to get jack by way of michael. come on. he just keeps this to himself? B.S.

And do they really give an F about diamonds when they?ve been trapped on an island with no sign of rescue at this point?

the episode only cheapened the series, i think. it was ?neat? to see how they seamlessly blended Nikki and Paulo into the old scenes, but it wasn?t worth it.

bad move by the writers. there?s nothing iconic about it.

I had a comment on my lost blog which summed it up imo....

I agree with that comment.

We had an entire episode devoted to answering questions that no Lost fan could really care about having answered. Those two just disappearing would not have bothered me in the least, no need to waste an entire episode to dispose of them.

Last nights episode was the worst episode ever. And apparently your pulse stops when you're paralyzed or no one even checked their pulses. Oh wow, next episode we get to see a bitch fight. Since when was Lost a melodramatic soap opera? Bring back the mystery, only try to solve some of the questions you damn writers and producers!

*Nikki was hott as hell in that stripper scene. It's a shame she was just buried alive, BWAHAHA. Oh well.*

Completely agree with you there Rappy. I was annoyed that these characters managed to find the plane and the pearl hatch before anyone, and Paulo seeing complete strangers walk in and talking about Jack and doesn't say anything it doesn't happen like that. It was a "filler" episode but pointless fillings. It was an alright just pointless.

Least they admitted it was a mistake to bring them onto the show.

Well at least we know why Michael was involved.

Well at least we know why Michael was involved.

Yeah true.

Question - When Ben and Juliet were watching Jack on the screen from the Pearl, what do you think what time period was that? I thought it was when Micheal shot Anna and Libby but no cuts are visible on Ben, so it has to be between episode 1 and episode 14 of season 2. Any thoughts?

(Sorry for stealing your picture Rappy)

It was a filler episode, that was extremely entertaining.

I don't see why everyone wants new answers and mysteries every episode, can't we just have some nice entertaining episodes?

I preferred it to the same elite circle going on there monster hunts.

But the majority of the episodes are 'entertaining' episodes - not many of them include answers :p

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
