How much faster does FireFox actully run with the FasterFox extention? And what does it actully do to your browser? I don't understand how it makes FireFox faster - What does it do?

* Image Toolbar 0.6.4 - Provides easy access to common image functions. (just like IE: in the top corner of the image buttons for print, save, et. al when mouse pauses for a while. You can change what appears in it's prefs)

* Mouse Gestures 1.5.2 - Allows you to execute common commands using mouse gestures. (Sure, I cheat and have a card I've written out and I don't use diagonals. Even when I've dumbed it down for my clumsy self it's very useful because it helps you keep your hand on the mouse all the time and go faster. Allows you to code more actions in simple Java Script. Works great in combinations with hotkeys if you can write the JS to "enter" those keys when you can't the JS for the actual funciton.)

* MR Tech Local Install 5.3.1.1 - Local Install power tools for all users. (en-US) (Sweet beyond all description... spat this out for me w exception to what I've put in parentheses)

* NoScript 1.1.4.5.061030 - Extra protection for your Firefox: NoScript allows JavaScript, Java (and other plugins) only for trusted domains of your choice (e.g. your home-banking web site). This whitelist based pre-emptive blocking approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and even unknown!) with no loss of functionality... Experts will agree: Firefox is really safer with NoScript :-) (Just got this one... I used to think I was safe becuase "no one ever uses scripts" I was wrong, and a lot of them are frivolous anyway.

* Ook? Video Ook! 0.6.2 - [email protected] - Ook? Video Ook! is able to download embedded videos from several web sites. (The first of three extensions I have to help be download embedded content and a greesemonkey script. One of them is bound to work. While you really can't consider using these "legal", please continue to respect the author's creation)

* Splash 1.2.1 - Adds a splash screen. Supported in Firefox, Flock, Thunderbird and Sunbird. (en-US) (just some fun and games... its worth the extra resources just to see "Good browsers are like taking a crap... good ones take time" every time firefox starts. * Tab Mix Plus 0.3.5 - Tab browsing with an added boost. (Knocks out 4 old extensions in one fell swoop... if you use tabs its a must have)

Here's my list of installed extensions. The blue highlights indicate very useful extensions that should be as popular as Adblock, IETab, FlashGot, NoScript - I consider them just as essential to my browsing. The red highlights are extensions that have made Firefox indispensable to me. These are deal breakers - part of the reason I really fell in love with Firefox after swearing by IE for 7 years.

- Allows you to customise keyboard short cuts.

- For example I like to have SHIFT+ENTER automatially fill out .net (e.g. type in "neowin" and then use the shortcut to add the www. and .net part around the text).

I can do that without any extensions. Ctrl+Enter -> .com, Shift+Enter -> .net, Ctrl+Shift+Enter -> org. :huh:

FxIF..............see EXIF info (camera settings) with on-line photos.

Mr Tech Link Wrapper.........Firefox can mess up web pages' width when there's a long link, this fixes.

POTO sidebar extension........This should be the default way of getting to bookmarks easy. Put mouse to left and click.

NoScript...............Essential for security these days.

Tab Mix Plus............Can't use tabs without it, undo closed tabs, variable width tabs & colours, many right click options etc etc etc.

      Wow, imagine you dump hundreds of hours into completing things and unlocking stuff and you lose it all. Back in the day when cheats were built into games, you could at least unlock things again that way without spending hundreds of hours again. The update reverts the app icon to the familiar flat green logo after weeks of mixed reactions online.
