Zune Theme Modified To True Royale Black Theme!

hi, im here to make another request...

i do not know if you guys have created.

I previously wanted the background of zune is orange.

My sister wants a background of black, white font with zune.

Is it possible to help me out for another time?

Erm, according to the pinned thread at the top of the page, to use a msstyle file, I will need to ...

2. Extract the visual style to a folder with the same name in the following directory: C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. For example, if the msstyles file is xyz.msstyles, create a folder called ?xyz? in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and extract xyz.msstyles to that folder.

3. To load the visual style, go to the Display Properties > Appearance > Windows and Buttons, and find the visual style. Do not look for the visual style in the Themes tab. You can also double-click the msstyles file.

But I'm ALREADY using my current Royale Noir theme, & there is ALREADY a Royale Noir folder inside my resources/theme folder. May I know how t\how do I de-conflict both? i.e. do I delete my current Royale Noir folder, replace the royale noir mssytle file only, or wat?

Dude, you didn't change this -> 'closebuttonglyph.bmp' and it's sizes. You have a black close button with an orange cross on click.

Just overwrite the .msstyles file.

hey xmexx, is there a way to modify the theme and make it black and blue, because it's all black, i mean to make it like the orange zune, but instead of the orange stuff, there would be blue stuff, the progress bars and all the orange stuff would look great in blue with black

Woah, that's convenient...so if for any reason I wan e previous 1 back, I simply swap BACK that .msstyles file? So the system always read frm whichevr msstyle file that is within that folder right?

It sounds like you haven't extracted the zune.msstyles file into the correct folder, or you have just double clicked it on the desktop.

The explorer side menu colour is controlled by shellstyle.dll.

1. Put the zune.msstyles I made into C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Zune. - in that folder there should be another folder called "Shell", within that folder is another folder called "NormalColor", and within that should be the Shellstyle.dll. if it is not there you can download it here

2. Either double-click the zune.msstyles in C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Zune OR Double-click the 2Kb Zune theme file located a directory above. (C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes)

Is it possible to make the tray area brighter? Its too black and some icons doesnt show good. It would be better if it was a bit grayish. I hope im not asking much :)

And people who say they like the zune are trying to change away everything that makes it zune. I only do what I can to finish the Royale Noir theme. Lol, yea no hard feelings. I just don't think your grayish/blue version is better than a true black/blue version. i know its all a matter of personal choice, of course ;)

Why don't you like the Zune theme? I don't care much for it either, I much rather like your royale noir version, everything about it, except for the gray aspect, I'd just prefer black which is why I asked to modify Zune.

Actually, is it hard to modify the color of the window bars? If so I might just personally modify royale noir to true black. It shouldn't be too hard to just change one line, right?

Antioch, if you don't want to mod the graphics you want and dump into zune, than you will need to extract and dump zune's black taskbars (many bitmaps) into noir, which is alot more if you want the controls to match the black as well. You need a resource editor like reshacker. Easier to just dump into zune.
