Male who likes males.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how many gay/bi males there are on Neowin; especially certain members who I would never have guessed weren't straight ;) But that's the problem with society: people (me included) automatically assume a person is straight unless they have reason to believe not to :(

I'm still unsure about my sexuality, until I've tried it properly with a guy...

I know I definitely like love women - I just find them so sexy & get so turned on by lesbians (the fit lesbians in porn lol), etc. But... I also sometimes have fantasies about guys & doing gay things. E.g. I was attracted to one of my best friends.

I came out as "unsure" during the second year of Sixth Form which everyone in the whole school found out about. I wasn't bullied or didn't have the **** taken out of me by anyone, although I got a lot of questions from people lol.

The only problem was, I know some of my friends felt uncomfortable around me - especially when my friend found out I was attracted to him (although I'm still sure to this day, from signs I've noticed & things he's said, he's in denial about his sexuality).

So, because I kept changing my mind about whether I was straight or bi & because I knew my friendship would never be the same again with this guy I liked (he was so uncomfortable around me & I wanted to stay best friends because he's such a legend), I decided to 'go back in' the closet, lol, & tell them I had a gay experience where I realised I didn't like it :/

So, basically, what I'm saying in this essay of a post is that I'm still unsure as to whether I am bi or straight, & everyone out there thinks I'm straight :/ I hate lying & never do, but it's hard when it's about sexuality because society can be very homophobic at times. My friends at Uni & back home are all straight (& some slightly homophobic), it is very hard to 'come out' & let everyone know your feelings in a society like that...

I imagine it is the same for a lot of guys out there who go through life hiding their feelings for other guys. Some can do that because they like women a lot too (like me), but I know it's only a matter of time before I decide & let everyone know (when I am 100% sure). I just wish all other guys would.

Sorry for the long post by the way...

Both members well fit. :p

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. - Dr. Seuss ;)

I had a time where I wanted to be straight just to make my parents happy... didn't work.. I stopped fooling myself. You need to be who you are and stop worrying about what people expect out of you. If you keep making everyone happy you'll never be happy yourself.

Love the Dr. Seuss quote. He's a genius. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it's around 10% since that is the typical figure given for society at large. Just happy to party of that number.

Nice quote. ;) It was the same with me and my parents...I didn't wanna be gay for their sake cuz I knew they wouldn't take it well. And in the end when they found out it didn't go over so well as I expected, but in any case at least I felt better not having to hide it from them anymore. You're right...you just can't please everyone in this world.

    • Someone forgot to mention EDR in the title ? I think I will not click anymore on the articles written by this author. All are click bait.
    • Browser vendors including Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi have jointly written an open letter to Microsoft saying enough is enough regarding Edge being pushed on Windows users without consent. Microsoft makes it difficult to change the default browser, promotes Edge throughout Windows 11, and has made the uninstall process unnecessarily complicated compared to other apps. Does anyone have more details on what exactly the open letter demands and whether any regulatory action is being considered? Also curious whether this could lead to antitrust investigations similar to what happened with Internet Explorer back in the day. Would love to hear from anyone following this closely.
