Vista Forceware 97.27 out

Recommended Posts

Careful, you'll get mauled by the people on this forum who think it's perfectly acceptable to wait until release day to have any driver at all out.

lol, I fully expect nVidia to come out with the G90 on Jan 30 and declare the G80 to be "legacy hardware" and that Vista driver "support" for the G80 ended on Jan 29.

witht he 64 bit inf this driver works great, faster than the old "official" driver I used on RC2, and I'm not sure if it's the rienstall or the driver but the problem I had in EQ2 after the latest update where the graphics woudl Freeze doesn't seem to occur anymore.

I'm happy :)

I don't know what everyone on here is complaining about 1440x 900. I have a inspiron 9300 with a 6800 go and these drivers work fine in 1440 x 900 for me. Also just to give u guys a heads up laptopvideo2go has their inf out if any of you need it.

It works for you cause its a laptop.

With DVI cable and LCD it doesnt work yet. With standard VGA it does... but that sucks :/

I can't even get them to install...replaced with modified INF (I had to add both inf files posted here nvbl and lh_nv to even get it to recognise my hardware)...says drivers are not compatible with Vista...WTF???

Ive tried both EXE (which doesnt install them either) and browsing, thats when i get the error...

I have a laptop with 7900 GTX Go....

I got lucky after modifying all inf files + modes.txt in the driver package. Open them up in notepad, and do a search and replace. Just replace one you never use, with the one you like. In my case, i replaced 1600x1200 with 1680x1050. I did this in all inf/ini files (i think there were 3 files). I don't think you need to do it in modes.txt, but it won't hurt.

After installing and restarting i finally got 1680x1050! But after the next restart it was suddenly gone again! It was appearantly replaced with 1600x1000 - which is really odd. But i solved that by installing the driver for my monitor, so now i'm back in business again, and have been for some days :D

PS: Only installing the driver won't work. You need to modify the driver files first as well.

Since everyone stated that the problem with the 1440x900 Resolution was related to using a DVI cable vs. an Analog VGA cable, i decided to switch and use the VGA cable provided with the monitor. Now I can use 96.85 and use 1440x900. However I am not able to use 97.19 (or is it 97.18?) nor 97.27 with this resolution even though I'm using a VGA Cable. is there any way to modify the drivers so I can use them with 1440x900.

Plus everyone who says just install your monitor driver, some companys don't provide them. I have a westinghouse and they have no drivers for their monitors as windows provides it.

Just for all of you that think 1440x900 does not work... it does but you need to deselect the "Hide modes this monitor can't display from the advanced button in the classic XP control panel... it's in vista too.

crap it dosent support ! 1440x900 !

but are there someone there know how long nvidia has come with a final driver for Vista ?

This doesn't work.... tried it before.

First post here.

no 1440x900. No matters what. recent drivers dont enable that res. i tried several monitor drivers and no go. But what really bother me is that I do have 1440x900 using the old 96.33. So, what is the big diference betwen 96.33 and later drivers 97.27? 96.33 has a really bad performance for me, even at desktop, and going to fullscreen gives me BSOD. One other hand 97.27 has a really nice performance, has some control panel, but no 1440x900.

Im not into drivers writing thing, so maybe someone may take a look into this discrepancy.

Well felows thats it. Im still waiting and searching the net for a driver that enable 1440x900, have some control panel. Cmon i just bought this fancy, and very expensive (im at brazil) widescreen monitor (check my sig).

Thanks in advance

Sorry my bad english.

@guys compaining about 1440x900:

Did you try what i wrote in the post righ above here?

As mentioned, i had no 1680x1050 (VGA) what so ever in Vista before, but i found the solution for the problem. Don't see any reason why it shouldn't work for 1440x900.

And you could always use Powerstrip to fix it, although i don't like that solution too well.

    • Wow, throwback.  VERY VERY briefly - but realised that it wasn't the language I needed for the tasks I was taking on.
    • Apple and Tesla trade secrets reportedly exposed following a Tata Electronics cyberattack by Hamid Ganji Image via Depositphotos.com Tata Electronics has confirmed that it detected a cybersecurity incident in some of its systems. The Indian company is a manufacturing partner of both Apple and Tesla, and the incident may have exposed some trade secrets belonging to the two American companies. The World Leaks ransomware group is said to be behind the attack, and it has reportedly posted up to 200,000 files on the dark web, including component designs and specification documents related to Apple and Tesla products. Tata Electronics told Reuters that its response protocols were deployed immediately and that the “incident has had no impact on our operations across businesses, which remain unaffected.” The ransomware group reportedly sent a ransom demand to Tata Electronics, while Apple has launched an investigation into the incident. World Leaks claims it stole more than 200,000 files totaling over 630GB from Tata Electronics. Some database files on the ransomware group’s website are titled "com.apple.factorydata," which could refer to Apple’s iPhone production operations in India. Moreover, some documents reportedly contain material specifications and quality inspection standards for iPhone circuit board components. However, Apple is not the only affected company. A folder found in the World Leaks database is titled "NV36 Chargeport Controller - North America," which may refer to Tesla Model Y components. Additionally, other files in the database reportedly contain drawings related to Tesla’s Project Highland, the internal codename for the EV maker’s updated Model 3 sedan. To support the authenticity of the stolen files, World Leaks has published documents containing footers that read: "This document contains proprietary and confidential information of Apple Inc." and "information contained herein is deemed confidential, proprietary, and a trade secret of Tesla Inc." Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia told Reuters that the database also contains emails, event logs spanning several years, and passport copies of employees, including foreign nationals. Both Tesla and Apple have declined to comment on the scale of the incident.

    • If they don't sell enough of the 1st gen then there won't be a 2nd gen
    • Epic fail, should've added an eSata port on the back, also if the memory/NVME are soldered then they're hardly gonna sell any, first thing most people do with their Steamdeck is, or used to be, replacing the NVME with a 2TB one. At that price they should, possibly for the first time, offer an installments option, say 24 months, they may sell a lot if they do. I'm sure they would have no shortage of credit companies willing to partner.
