congrats on the new domicile but not the defeatist attitude...you can afford a mortgage but not a couple of games, at least rentals, a month? comon! don't make it so easy for me.

For the 48 hour period beginning at 12:00 a.m. GMT on Sunday, September 2 and continuing until 11: 59 p.m. GMT on Monday, September 3, the following Xbox LIVE Arcade games will be available for half their usual price:

Small Arms - 400 Microsoft Points (normally 800 Microsoft Points)

Easy to pick up but hard to put down, "Small Arms" is a frantic multiplayer action game with the feel of an arcade shooter.

Zuma Deluxe- 400 Microsoft Points (normally 800 Microsoft Points)

Explore more than 20 realms in Adventure mode and put your skills to the test in this fast-paced puzzle game.

Gauntlet - 200 Microsoft Points (normally 400 Microsoft Points)

The original dungeon crawler lets four adventurers explore and fight together as a warrior, valkyrie, wizard, and elf.

Dig Dug - 200 Microsoft Points (normally 400 Microsoft Points)

Experience the fast-paced action of this quarter-cruncher from 1982 as you take control of Dig Dug himself and vanquish Pookas and Fygars.

Remember: If the game is available in your region, it will be available for the ‘sale’ price during the above time.

I've always hoped they would reduce the prices on older titles eventually. On the one hand it's a shame it's only for a few days, but on the other it's half price which is way better than I would have ever expected. Going to be hard to resist buying those, even the ones I don't necessarily want. :D

Next week's releases are apparently..

Cyberball 2072 and Fatal Fury Special hit the Xbox LIVE Arcade next week, Wednesday, September 5, beginning at 9 AM GMT. Each costing your wallet 400 points.

Four oldie but goodie Xbox LIVE Arcade titles will be available for half their regular price this coming weekend. Small Arms and Zuma Deluxe will be 400 points (normally 800), and Gauntlet and Dig Dug will be only 200 points. Buy them beginning at 12 AM GMT on Sunday, September 2 and continuing through 11: 59 p.m. GMT. So get ready to snap them up if you want to boost your gamerscore.

Cyberball 2072 - 400 Microsoft Points

Rediscover the arcade classic game Cyberball 2072 from Midway on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Take control of your robotic team, and call the plays to move your team downfield for a touchdown. But watch out, the ball gets hot if you don't keep moving! Keep your eye on the ball to make sure it doesn't go critical before you can score.

Fatal Fury Special (400 Microsoft Points)

The third title in the Fatal Fury fighting game series from SNK Playmore makes its way onto Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday! Join Terry and Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi and 12 of the toughest titans in one of the biggest matches of the millennium. Set in Southtown, a fictitious American city, players must compete against the ruler of the underworld Wolfgang Krauzer. Who will win? You’ll have to play to find out.

Let us know if you will be picking up any of these titles, along with your cries of "Where is Speedball 2 or SWOS!!"

(not sure how reliable the site is, never heard of it before).

Is Small Arms good?

For what it is, its rather decent. I personally couldn't get used to the control, but then again I never got the full version. Thinking about picking it up today as its only 400 till tonight, I figure what the hey. Plus, maybe more people will be playing multiplayer on it now with the price drop :D

But for a small little action game, it looks great (considering its an XBLA game after all and over a year old now) and is nice and smooth.

as usual? what's wrong with you?

Between my back which is in horrible shape, and my knees - I'm in pain all the time.

But last night my food got "stuck" for hours, which is a byproduct of sorts from my gastric bypass from 2001. Sometimes if I eat to fast or take to much in one bite, the food gets stuck, it hurts like hell and you can't swallow your spit or liquids until it either goes down or you just vomit. Normally it goes down pretty fast or I vomit, but last night it was just hours of ugh.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
