Mac OS X 'Leopard'-related Discussion

Recommended Posts

I was so tempted to order it but just don't want to risk it on the run up to christmas really! Argh.. its killing me.. I REALLY want to get Leopard but the cost (whilst excellent value for money) is an amount I should be spending elsewhere...

*bangs head on desk*

it says 26th on the amazon site where are you reading that ?

On my order status:

Dispatch estimate for these items: 24 Oct 2007

Delivery estimate: 25 Oct 2007

1 "Apple Mac Leopard OS X 10.5 (Mac)"

DVD-ROM; ?79.98

Sold by: Amazon.co.uk

Meh, its only a few days, leaked or not I can wait. Also for what its worth, I think the guided tour and website were all made long in advance of Leopard so likely contain older shots. I can only hope the GM build fixed many of the various GUI imperfections.

Also heres the new side dock.

I wished they did but I just don't think they will. I know we keep coming back to the aqua scrollbars but.. I would love to see the back of them but somehow doubt they'll still be there.

I'm really after Leopard now as I went to download Bootcamp today from Apple and true to their word its been pulled and now just links to a page explaining about how it comes with Leopard :( Nuts :(

Orderd mine. I was tempted to install the GM that is floating about.. But I figured I use the Operating System every single day and its a quality release (After seeing some of the 300+ features it has seriously swayed me) so I decided to buy it just now from amazon.co.uk ?5 cheaper then Apple and its being dispatched on the 25th so not bad:)) I spent the savings I made from not buying from Apple.com on the faster delivery option.:DD

Can't wait to install it on my MBP 17"

Apple has updated the Dock so that it has a 2-Dimensional appearance when it resides on the side of the screen. When residing on the bottom of the screen, the Dock retains the 3d shelf appearance.

This, to me, is great news.

I'm hoping there is an option to have it 2D on the bottom of the screen too. Or Apple have fixed the horrible shadows and reflections.

Any news of apps built for Leopard-only? Versiontracker, only seems to have Leopard listings that also work with previous OS X builds. Delicious Library seems to be taking advantage of Core Anim, etc.

As a writer, a bit of web development, etc, any apps that aren't multimedia oriented taking advantage of new features perhaps 64-bit for more data space or CoreAnim for faster GUI? On an iMac G5, I would hope this would make some of my fav. apps faster on screen redraws.

Is the GM of Leopard supposed to be a standard 4.7 GB DVD or is it going to be a dual-layer disk? Of the three betas I have played with, all three were on dual-layer discs.

When you have the retail box, you'll know after installing it (Y)

Radish?
