Watford striker Ashley Young is thought to have turned down a move to West Ham after a bid of ?9.65m had been agreed.

The Hammers had a ?7m offer rejected last week but at the time manager Aidy Boothroyd said he expected the Upton Park club to make another offer.

They returned with an initial offer of ?8m plus ?1.65m based on clauses but Young, 21, turned them down.

With ?9.6m West Ham could buy half decent players and by that I'm saying Ashley Young is not good enough...not proven at Premiership level.

Mascherano looks set to join Liverpool now...a good move for him...its a shame because I rate him highly but obviously Curbs doesn't:((

Looks like that money grabbing git Lucas Neill is going to West Ham, for ?60,000 a week apparently, just proves his incentive is the money and not playing for a great club. West Ham have signed Davenport as well.

Maybe this means that Liverpool will be making another move for Alves in the summer.

I just saw the Davenport transfer...donno if that's a great transfer imo....Neil would be good tho :)

Not sure why davenport went to west ham, unless he's got a better chance of starting more matches.

Lucas Neil no idea what to say about that really. Lets hope it just works well

At least portsmouth get Lauren from Arsenal. :p

Lucas Neil is reporting on 60k a week which is just wrong...also heard that Ashley Young deal is back on as well...:)

Choosing a relegation threatened team, instead of a team currently 3rd on the ladder.

Hmm ... :/

At the moment Liverpool aren' a great club. Arsenal knocked them out of both cups with one team being full of kids.

Who cares if he goes for money? The career of a footballer is limited, they have to live the rest of their life off what they earn now.

Yeah I think that's what Neil is doing with West Ham...he comes to us and then leaves because there is a clause that he leaves for free if we go down :)

Also I saw tonight Baros maybe to Lyon?

Lauren is one of the best and most consistent right backs in the premiership, sad that he is now a pompey boy. Damn portsmouth, first Campbell and Kanu, now Lauren and rumours say possible Pires too.

One of the biggest and greatest clubs in England and the world mate. Don't be so naive.

I think the FA Cup win had a physiological effect on the Carling Cup game.

Yes, the FA Cup and Carling Cup losses were disappointing.

But Liverpool is back at, winning 2-0 against Chelsea with Pennant scoring his first goal for Liverpool.

Riise and Crouch was so close at extending the lead ...

Yet why such a "great" club haven't wont the Premiership yet is beyond me.

Brum turning down 6m for Upson is mad...they are just wanting more money for him when he is clearly not worth it imo...

Kepa seems pretty sound tho up front...lets hope Curbs actually plays him :)

Kepa Blanco

Carlton Cole

Teddy Sheringham

Dean Ashton

Marlon Harewood

Bobby Zamora

Carlos Tevez

7 strikers, that's almost a full team of just 1 position.

but yeah I probably only highly rate Ashton out of all them.

Yeah I think Ashton is probably the best on his day tho when Tevez gets playing he can't be caught :)

Birmingham need a good defence to keep going and they are sure to be back in the Prem next season. Unless its a big club after him i doubt he would leave.

True, Brum will probley be up next season. Also they could probley sell him then, they could afford another defender with the tv rights alone from next season.

Yeah I think they will be up they have a mean team now in the championship but the fact that Upson did want to leave just like Dunn wanted to might make Brum do business for Upson...
